This night was different than the others. I sat around the table with the top men of the Gato Regime. Cruel sat right infront of me. On my left side there was Carmine Ttrapani and on the left the man they call Doctor, Doc Santoro. We discussed family business as every evening. The room was filled with smoke fromour cigars and the on the table was our favourite whiskey. Business was going really well and the Gato Regime grew on a daily basis. The head of the Gato Regime Louis Gato was in a meeting. Something very important... After a while and some more glasses of whiskey Louis appeared and made a sign which told me to go with him. As we entered his office Louis fell into his chair and silently poured in something to drink for the both of us. He smiled towards me but hasn't said anything. As we finished our drinks...silently Louis got out of his chair and walked over to a window. He just stood there...smiling. "Louis, whats the matter? Why are you so happy?" "Sal, my dear brother. Take a look out there, how far we have come. Isn't that unbelievable?" "We worked pretty hard, Louis. We deserve it...you deserve it." "You know, today is a great day for the Gato Regime." "God damn it Louis, would you please tell me what's the matter?!" Louis turned around and lifted his right hand. He smiled, I never saw him so happy. On his hand he had a big ring. From now on the head of the Gato Regime Louis Gato is known as Don Louis Gato. I immediately yelled downstairs for Cruel, Carmine and Doc to come upstairs. Louis sat in his chair as we kissed his ring which leads us to an even brighter future... |
