Thomas led Fork by the hand off the train from New Orleans and they stepped out on to the platform. They had arrived in the big city. They were immediately mobbed by press who had heard that a crime element was about to re-enter the city. They had all heard of the Mighty Rourkes thanks in no part to Brian who contributed very little. It had been a while since the city had a crime boss walking its streets, and sensationalism in the media was a New York staple so Thomas knew he'd have to lay low for a while. He brushed past the cameras and reporters ignoring any questions about the recent mob war that had broken out. Thomas was ushered into a taxi where Fork gave the driver instructions for a warehouse in Brooklyn. Upon arriving they entered the structure and were immediately greeted by applause from a scattered grouping of a disorganized criminal element. Since the removal of families in New York there had been a bleak future looming over them until the recent war. They were happy that somebody could save them from a life of nickel and diming it in a career of purse snatching. Thomas put up a hand to quiet them and had Fork pass out cookies and punch. "Ladies and gentlemen, I am taking New York as my new kingdom. I enjoyed my time and retirement in New Orleans, and I personally hope to continue that easygoing lifestyle in a city otherwise known for being a pressure cooker. I hope to catch the Yankees quite a bit, and of course, place some wagers on them. I'm hungry for some lunch so I'll keep this brief. This city has been in dire straits for a while, and I'm looking to turn it around. With this spirit of new beginnings, I am making a special offer to anyone with regards to families within the city. I will allow any person Made Man and up to set up shop within my city with several stipulations: 1. Most importantly, you have the blessing of your current crewleader. 2. You are able to kick up a tribute of $1,000,000 a week to me earned off your operations within the city. The first payment will be made 7 days after you have set up. 3. You will all be equals to each other and will run the day to day operations of my city. That means you make decisions together about if you want a tax in the city, how the business district is run, what contests you'd like to throw, etc. I won't curry favor to any leader, when you're here you work together. 4. You will be restricted to a 25 person HQ upon the initial set-up of your family. Based on your performance in the days and weeks that follow, it will determine whether you can expand or not. 5. You are responsible for your own alliances with other crews in New York or outside the city, and if you get into heat with another family, you have to face the consequences on your own, I'm not here to shield you from the potential danger in the world. Now that's not to say I will let wackhappy people take potshots at you, but if you disrespect a leader in the Streets then you need to be prepared for the consequences. 6. You will be responsible for paying the city taxes in those metropolises that charge them for shooting or criming while holding a certain rank. You don't HAVE to pay them, but if you use those utilities I won't pay for you. You also are accountable to follow any rules that a city sets up, an example being if a city restricts pickpocketing you are responsible to make your crew aware of that. I do not care about your pedigree, whether your family line has never been a leader, or they have led 25 times. If you think you can make me money and run a successful family, then you are welcome in this city. Every week or two we will hold meetings to discuss the progression of the city, so that way you can all remain on the same page and keep things running smoothly. Thank you kindly for your time, and I'll field any questions you have." |

| You haven't been looking very hard then Avant, it's pretty much what the previous controller of NY had laid out just a week or two ago. It was a good idea then and it still is, best of luck with it. Good luck with those that pursue it. | |

Marietta, with respect, you yourself said in Jimmy's most recent speech that if people deserved auth, they would have it. So, I don't necessarily think that making people jump through hoops is a bad thing. Those with the necessary quality will shine through. Not that there's anything wrong with what Thomas is proposing, money is money. With this move so sharp on the heels of the war, and given that we've had no reasoning for said war, I do wonder if Thomas' prior request to move to NY and his refusal by Guardian played a part in breaking the camel's back, so to speak. Purely conjecture of course, no-one really knows, I understand. As I say, I like the idea and look forward to watching NY flourish. |

| Identity by that logic, quite a few people would've wanted to kill Chicago if it was based off rejected applications. New York had just been empty for a while and nothing had been done with it. Now I can be my own boss and help to hopefully orchestrate a successful campaign of multiple families in a city. | |

| I didn't say it was logical, I was merely speculating. Actually, I imagine a few did want to, but very few had the strength. It is already in the past and almost irrelevant, and I've no doubt it the initiative can be a success just as it would've with Guardian over time. NY is a great city. Best of luck with the campaign. | |

Listens to the news of New York.. The Godfathers move, the new family idea.. All around great ideas, money rules our world and without money our world would stop revolving. I hope this idea can move thing along and finally fill the void of New York that we have had for much too long, too many great attractions and great people and places for this city to be empty. |
