I enjoy the current tipping feature. When I imagine how it would unfold in reality (from the 'Anonymous' stand point): I picture a mobster asking his little associate to discretely deliver a bulging envelope across the street - a simple way to give kudos to somebody who's impressed you with their words.

My suggestion appears simple enough, but I can imagine it being plenty of fun.

I'd propose a character limit to this written note, as I picture a small piece of paper being slipped into the envelope.

Here's a simple example:

Oct 12, 19:37:44    Someone has tipped you $20,000 for your post. The note reads: "You have a way with words, darling. X" Click here to view which post.

Excellent idea. I'm fully in support of this being implemented.

Since wire transfers with notes have already been implemented, I think this feature should be next. In full support here.

Maybe remove the anon feature if you wish to add a message? 

This would lessen the features worth a great deal - likely making it worthless.

Those with no concern about hiding their identity could (and normally do, in my experiences) simply mob mail the person directly to make a comment.

An obvious limit would be that a player can only 'tip with a note' once per post (preventing continuous spam on the same post).

There could also be other restrictions put in place, such as: only allowing to send one 'tip with a note' to the same player every 6 hours (general tipping wouldn't be effected).

No need to add in restrictions, simply mail admins if spam becomes a problem.

I think the best way to do that Squishy is to make it to where if a note is added, then you're automatically not tipping anyone anonymously. If you're going to provide a note, you can't use the pleasure of hiding your face.

I really don't think any more allowances for what are going to be extremely infrequent occurrences is really necessary. Who is going to pays $20,000 just to send someone a shitty note, especially if what Squishy suggests is in place?

I like this idea, but agree with Heel (shudders).

In its original format, with the disclaimer Squishy has suggested that a persons name will be revealed if used in a malicious fashion.

If we have to have name reveals on this at all, I'd prefer TyrionLannister's wording personally. (wtf is wrong with me?!)

If we say negative fashion, it technically makes it so that people can't say they disagree with the speech anonymously. To me, there's no harm at all in disagreeing with something and saying you disagree. 

However, if we do have to have the possibility of the name being revealed, malicious usage of this feature seems like a better way of putting it. That way we don't have people running around sobbing to be told everybody who disagrees with anything they say.

Not a bad idea. I would be for this if you opt to write a note that it is no longer an anonymous tip.

I like it right bellow were you enter the amount should be the note section followed by the little box saying send anomalously (Fee: $whatever amount). this could be heavily abused though, i think we should give it a try though. this would be a great way to get test the waters for future anonymous mob mails. if players feel the need to abuse it and waste admin time tracking them down than we could remove it and come back to the general idea a few years later.

for a safe guard we should also add in only those who have been made or higher can use it, that would also tie in more responsibility and value to the rank of made man. this would also give CL more responsibility  of who they give this button to.
