If the goal is to prevent the killing of staff player accounts out of revenge, and to prevent threats to staff player accounts, then the simplest solution is obvious: prevent staff from having a player account whilst they are serving as staff.

You mileage, I suppose, may vary as to whether or not that is the actual goal, however.

Dealing with disrespect is part and parcel of being in charge of something. Killing off people you don't like for showing you disrespect is the absolute wrong way to go about it.

Personally, if I were in charge, I would seek to defuse the entire situation by mandating that you cannot be staff and a player at the same time. But again, that's because my goal would BE to defuse the entire situation. 

I'm not entirely sure that that is the goal here.

I can't believe that people that act like they all make the same decisions is bitching when they all get nailed for a decision one or more of them made.

Firstly Wow that escalated quickly...

Secondly, clearly us more new individuals have no idea what is going on but the few of us who are close to family members and some contacts are being kept in the loop, I have to agree the killing of a mass group of people labeled the 303 isn't exactly the best thing to do (I mean just look at the rage above - got some mixed replies to this) but the admins have to do something i doubt they were going to ever sit back and say "let them do whatever they want!" because they weren't their admins their here to keep the peace and to make sure chaos doesn't cause things like rogues and revenge killings but on the other hand I see what some people are getting at - you have to look at it from both sides of the story if you only lean on one side then the story will be slanted and biased. The admins though some of you might not agree came in as a neutral force and did what had to be done to stop countless "revenge" killings, just think if they hadn't of done anything you'd be complaining about that instead and most of us would have probably left thinking "the admins don't really care about the game anymore so why should we?" I think its better they got involved and honestly I don't blame them for never getting involved again after this.

Thirdly, a lot of abuse towards each other came out of this thread we're supposed to be a close community (or so I've been told) and yet all I'm seeing so far is a string of "your an idiot!" or "shut up/ you're points invalid/ wrong!". Now from experience it is most definitely not nice when someone claims everything you say is wrong or invalid and it makes it worse that you all just turned on each other like that. I understand the last few days have been odd to say the least but surely you can be civil about expressing yourself and not screaming in each others faces every ten seconds.

Lastly, I know some people will be all "your wrong and you know nothing!" to me or might even "get revenge" on me for what I have neutrally stated but you have to understand sometimes mistakes are made admins aren't perfect and neither are we. The admins did what they had to do, think would you sit back and watch a game you have worked hard to get to where it is now just fall apart before your eyes or would you do everything in your power to solve the issues? I already know the answer I'd give.

And yes i am a new player but that doesn't make me any less equal to the rest of you. You know life has consequences those who were guilty in the attack on players have a taste of what those consequences on the game are. Not all of the 303 may have been responsible but to take care of an infestation you must kill the main nest or queen to stop the infestation spreading once the main root of the issue is dealt with the others are very swiftly taken care of or in this case revived.

Not really. That's just a surefire way of making sure the game has hardly any staff, since they're recruited from the playerbase (you know, people who like playing the game who aren't likely to take a staff position if it means they have to stop playing).

No, clearly not. People never have and they never will need to do that. I've died many times while being an admin, and not once have I felt that it was because of my staff position other than this one time - and it has been admitted that that was in fact the case by multiple people involved in it all.

I am new here.  Never have posted in a thread except for my family rules thread.  I was Nico Toscani, first account basically that I actually played but not my first the other 2 names didn't have an hour total on them as I was lost when I first joined, go figure..hehe.

I was recently wacked out by a coward who knew he was going to die so he decided to go out with a blaze, congrats to him I guess.  Not very honorable.

I stuck it out this time, ranked up to level 62, even donated to the site but when I started seeing all this craziness going on between the STAFF and game players, and entire families getting wacked out for wacking accounts that were supposedly ADMIN accounts, I was quickly turned off.

By that I mean that I was instantly regretful that I even started playing this game/donated as it is a business, you except real money in trade for these credits we all use.

Look, I am a veteran gamer and when ADMIN starts taking it to far by getting involved in game play, you lose clientele which equals revenue.

Seriously disappointed.

I would also like to say R.I.P. Boss Insight as I didn't see one anywhere.  You were a great Boss and will be missed.

That sounds extremely unfair. You are victimizing the culprits and blaming the victim. You would never say that the way to avoid rape is not to allow women out of their homes. If anybody tries to exploit a loophole, that is the exploiter's fault, even if we then try to fix all the loopholes the best we can.

Vodquila, you have very strong opinions, but I couldn't disagree with you more, and I see I am not alone. All of the members of HD were VOLUNTARY. We did it because we loved the game so much we wanted to help out. I cannot afford to buy credits and I don't want the game to die, so I figured I would work for free by providing a service that helps the company stay alive by providing better customer service. If I can't play, then I don't want to be HD. It is selfish of course, but my primary reason to be here is to play the game, not to work. And the company cannot afford to hire staff from outside so they don't play. Let alone the fact that you would have to train an outsider to learn the game before he can do his job properly.

There are very, very few occasions where only one person is killed. And it so happens that it happens twice and BOTH have staff accounts. Talk about lightning hitting twice in the same spot, huh? The argument should be the shooter coming out here saying "I swear I shot this guy because I hated him" not blaming HD for everything that is happening.
