| A Declination of Business? | Started by: Ares on Mar 22, '09 16:46 |

Ares looks outside the window of his sandwich shop. He sees the sun shining outside and decides it's a nice day for a stroll. After a quick clean-up, Ares peeks his head out the door. It's a bit chilly, but the sun offers him enough warmth to go out with a light jacket. He grabs his hat and cane and starts his walk down Main Street. Ares walks two or three blocks before coming across a few shops, all similar to his. He had never heard of any of them, despite living in Detroit all his life. "This almost feels strange. I've been through here before, yet I don't remember these businesses here." He notices a small sign which reads "Since 1910" in one of the shops. "This one's been here for 25 years! Damn!" Ares continues his walk, coming across a couple more shops. At the end of his walk, he enters a bread shop to get a few things. After finishing his purchase, Ares exits and begins his walk back. On his way back to his shop, he counts the others. "1...2...3...4...5. 5 Shops." Once Ares arrives at his old corner shop, he takes off his hat and throws his jacket aside. He picks up the newly-released Newspapers; "Detroit Times" and "Mafia Maxim", and skims over them. "This is odd. I can't find any businesses listed in any of these papers. It seems like they don't even exist!" As customers begin to fill up his shop, Ares raises his hands to calm everyone down. "Hello everyone. Thank you for coming to my shop. I only interrupt your dining because I have a question. You see, on my walk today, I took a different route than usual and came across some shops I'd never seen before." Ares reads off the names of the shops. He notices the people shaking their heads. "Since I'm sure you're all still wondering why I'm interrupting your lunch, I'll try and make this quick." Ares shuffles his feet a bit, then looks up to face the crowd. "Lately, it seems we, as a community, have lost our "Sense of Business" in a couple ways. 1. It seems people are more interested in their "gun", than their investments. 2. I've noticed a rather sad decline in our "Business Districts". 3. All the money we make now-a-days is completely illegal. It's a miracle the cops aren't sniffing around any of you. Many of you have more than a million dollars with nothing legal to show for it. So, I'll leave you with a challenge. Can we bring back our "Sense of Business"? |

| well the problem with nobody making any legal money these days lies in the fact that there are a very limited number of services that people in our communities are actually willing to pay money for... if you cant get crackdowns and/or make good profile pictures then there are not many ways to make legal money anymore.. | |
