| Maxed out on Bodyguards? | Started by: PastorDave on Nov 03, '14 14:54 |

I feel that it is far to easy to predict which way a war/takedown will go these days. Wouldn;t it be better if the person with maxed out gun only had a 1/3 chance of hitting someone with maxed out bodyguards?
Still taking rank into it of course.
I find myself looking at bodyguards and thinking what is the point even if I buy these they won't protect me from skilled guns unless they get a small chance of wack back.
I just think in order for me to spend more money on bodyguards I want to know that I at least would have a fighting chance...
In essence: 1000 kill gun vs BG CAP = 1/3 chance of hitting 50 kill gun vs 10 fully trained BG's = Same rank of both shooter and target = 1/3 chance of hitting. |

Well, considering how long it can take to build a cap killing gun. Seems pretty pointless. Because the other side of the argument is simply, why would I waste my time and money building a cap killing gun if the odds are stacked against me when it comes to shooting? You dedicate yourself to building such a gun so that you CAN kill anyone with capped bodyguards. Other wise whats the point in bothering if your twice as likely to miss? terrible idea. |

Genocide, the ticket works both ways. The other person with a cap killing gun is more than likely going to have maxed out bodyguards as well. If not they will have to think twice about taking the shot.
Plus it doesn't take that long to build a cap killing gun, it's different speeds for different people.
I'm just trying to figure out a way that I can spend my money on bodyguards knowing that there is better chance that they will actually protect me rather than the 30 biggest guns on the game being able to take me out without a flinch, maybe one of those 30 would wack back.
I'm trying to build a platform where I can be sure my money isn't going to be wasted straight off the bat, If you think it's such a terrible idea why don't you counter it with a different idea. |

Ok here is my idea. Lets keep things as they are. if your worried about being killed by the top players, my advise would be to talk to them and make some friends. if they like you, they wont kill you. And youll have nothing to worry about. if it aint broke, dont fix it. |

I'm not exactly worried about being killed by the top players. My beef is with the fact that the game has very little chance brought into it.
I'm just saying that that's all fine and dandy when there is no money being put into the game but when there is money I want to have an enjoyable experience. It also works both ways for me because I don't want to know that I can kill MrX without a challenge and I don't want MrsX to be able to kill me without a challenge.
It's not working for me, so if it aint fixed then I simply won't be putting my cash into a game that doesn't challenge me.
It's like going into maths class with a degree in mathematics and the teacher teaching you the 2 times tables. Sometimes there needs to be unknown equations to keep the mind thinking. |

So they game has to be changed so you feel more comfortable spending money on it? I have spent easily $1000 in my year here, see me complaining about the risks? |

You go on to Amazon, you buy a red t-shirt, it's delivered to your house but it's too small do you:
A) Complain and ask for a refund B) Send it back and ask for a bigger size or C) Keep it because it's not broken or damaged
C is exactly what your saying here...
I know that the product may suit your needs but at the end of the day it doesn't suit mine.
In honesty Genocide if this change was made would you stop playing/stop spending cash in-game? |

I'd certainly like the defense stat to become prominent once again - as most realize, it's effects are quite negligible currently. I'd consider it healthy to adjust the effects of this stat - in order to possibly create the balance you are looking for, and re-adding some mystery to when it comes to predicting a successful hit. |

I agree with PastorDave to a degree here. Maybe not 33% or 1/3 but maybe 65-70-75% chance of hitting. No need to get upset over a game suggestion people. Some things may not be broken but they can be improved on. That's just my opinion though. |

Thanks P_habulis and Smoke, Yeah I just thought up a sum didn't really think too much about the guess work but it could be improved more than it is now, to accommodate a chancier outcome. |

Why would this be better? I'm not being facetious, I genuinely just don't understand why it would be better to make people harder to kill. |

I think it would be better because the defense stat is kind of pointless except at very low level/rank. Defense in any type of game should play a major role at the small level/rank, to the top level/rank. I mean, it's offense and defense. If you have the money to raise your offense you should be able to raise your defense to that same range to counter it. |

Oh god. So I can spend 5 months on this game and get a cap killing gun only to have a small % to kill someone I've trained up for? Yeah, no. |

Kyubey picture this for a second...
I'm a hard working player, I don't train my gun vigorously like other players but I take pride in my street presence and I want to build a strong defensive account. When I rank get my defence as high as it can be the most likely people that will attempt to wack me will most certainly succeed with very little to no chance of failure. Where do I as a player stand in the mess of things? Nowhere.
In times gone past there used to be great wackers but there also used to be mad defensive players as well. That whole aspect of the game has been removed.
I'm not saying that if I'm fully maxed and you have a way bigger than average gun to kill me that you should hit I'm just saying that when it's close to call it really isn't close to call, if you know what I mean... |

Genocide, it's a suggestions thread and I'm just debating my side of it.
You have expressed your views very clearly so if you would kindly leave, it would be much appreciated. |

Righto kids. Dave, Genocide, you've got differing opinions, debating is fine but lets not bash each other for our opinions please. I don't like the idea simply because it deters hard work. |

so in essence you want anyone with a cap killing gun restricted? it takes approximately 41 days to build a 1k gun (without perking of course) in essence you want everything to come down to a dice roll when killing (which it already does 1% to ignore bg's if i am correct) |
