Tax Free Weekend in New Orleans Started by: Mikey_Palmero on Mar 27, '09 21:43
A black Cadillac pulls up to the curb. A dark figure steps out...

"Hows it goin' folks? I'd like to take this time to give my congrats to Don Brick. I know he's been waiting for this. Well we all have. The rank Don is an achievement only several can say they have achieved. I know my bloodline hasn't ever came close to the rank. Anyways, us at the Elegido Corporation cannot be more proud of our leader."

He sees a pretty broad walk by and pauses to check her out.

"In celebration of this astounding acquisition, I am coming here on the streets to ask if you all will come and celebrate with us in New Orleans. I have been given permission to announce that New Orleans is opening its doors for everyone to come celebrate and have a good time. The festivities include the local Speakeasy's. All drinks are being paid for by the Corporation. And the local jail is going to be heavily locked up. The police commissioner has made sure of this. Crime has never been so high he says."

"In conclusion, New Orleans is open for anyone and everyone to come celebrate with us. So come on and fly over. And for those who have paid the tax to use New Orleans, you will be given two days for free due to us allowing others in for free. You are being reimbursed. New Orleans will open up its doors starting tomorrow at 09:00 EST. And will close its doors Sunday night at 21:00. Be sure you are out of New Orleans at that time. I cannot secure your safety. Saturday morning at 09:00 to Sunday night at 21:00 the gates open is, tax free. I guarantee you won't be disappointed."

Jumps back in the car knowing he has to stop by the local police station and bust out a few known Mafioso's.

Marietta stops by the side of the road as she hears a young mobster speak. She smiles to herself and nods after his announcement. An old woman like herself surely had something better to do, like crocheting, but she couldn't help but wonder how many people had let this speech go unnoticed. Why, it was a perfect business opportunity for those who could not afford the city tax to venture into the Big Easy. Shaking her head she watched the robust man jump back into his car and drive away. Thinking now of reading a book when she got back to her HQ, the Godfather walked on about her day as usual.

Sees Ms. Rossi walking by hoping she sees him, he makes eye contact.

"Well folks, the time has come. New Orleans is open to everyone from now until tomorrow, Sunday, night at 21:00. All visitors are welcome and the jail is about to be filled. The police commissioner has told me so. So come join us in New Orleans to celebrate Don Brick's great achievement."

"Remember, at 21:00 Sunday night the tax comes into effect and violators may have some consequences. I can assure you, you do not want those. And for those who have paid the tax, you will be reimbursed two whole days."

Gets to the local jail to bust out his gangster friends...

Very good, It's always nice to get a break from taxes, even if it is just for a weekend.
Report Post Tip
"Its just sad that not everyone appreciates the break."

"Jails are still full at the moment. Everyone is still welcome to New Orleans."
Report Post Tip
I believe we are still being avoided.

"Seems that way Kittie."

"Anyways, we'll be getting ahead and they won't."

Gets back to the local jail in New Orleans.

Brick strolls into the streets, dangling the keys to the jails in his hands.

Time is running out for the weekend. Looks like the jails were busy most of the last couple of days. If you're not here now, and you haven't paid your taxes for the week, it's probably not a good idea to fly now.

Thank you to Mikey for opening up the jails. And thanks to Munchkin, High and Jimmy for agreeing to allow the weekend to take place. We'll do it again soon. I hope those of you who had the opportunity to visit New Orleans, will consider coming back, even if it does mean you pay some taxes. The benefits outweigh the small expense of the taxes in the long run.

Enjoy the rest of your time here. We enjoyed having you.

Walks up to the street. He looks a bit worn out.

"I'd to say thanks to the family heads. Munchkin, High_SocWinter_Hill, JimmyTheLionHeart, and ultimately Brick_Pollitt. You gave me the chance to do something on my own, and for that I thank you."

"For everyone who participated and came over to our wonderful city, I say thank you and I hope you'll make it again the next time we open the doors. As Mr. Pollitt said, we'll do it again soon. I can guarantee it."

Walks away with those last words...
