There has been a concern voiced lately that there has not been enough attention paid to those high ranking members of This Thing of Ours that die on a daily basis.

As many of you may have noticed, one of Detroit's Dons, by the name of WildTurkey, was listed in the most recent paper's obits. I will try to address this issue, as I feel it is not only an insult to pretend that I did not notice one of my own Dons dying in the midst of the night.

My own esteemed Right Hand Aurora was heard recently saying, "It's completely embarrassing to see high ranking members, especially from Detroit, in the obits". Of course she was referencing for specific (other) reasons, but I cannot help but echo the sentiments that she expressed. It is very embarrassing to see people who are Made and up, apart of my syndicate, being killed for situations that they should know better in, or for plain stupidity.

Tonight I have had to make the same tough decision about killing someone who is of an esteemed rank. Don. Nothing to sneeze at. Something to respect. Something to adore and aspire to. However, rank cannot say everything about a person alone. There are Dons of all shapes and sizes, and in the case of WildTurkey, varieties.

Though, as I have stated, it is embarrassing to see high ranking members of my city in the obituaries, it is even more embarrassing to see people left alive after a string of cringe worthy and embarrassing events.

Obviously, if I am mentioning such, there has been such events that were started by my late Don himself.

I'm not going to drag out a laundry list of everything he has done, but I do want to make it clear that for his actions and ill-will against many of you, I apologize. His views are not, in any way shape or form, the views of Detroit. For having to put down a Don into the death records, one of my own personal crew leaders at that, I feel ashamed. Yet I know that this act is for the better of everyone involved, for I could not let someone whom I once trusted and counted upon so much to continue down this dark path that he was headed.

So there you are. Reasons and an inside look about a high ranked death that certainly was not overlooked.
