The last few weeks had been some of the most turbulent and unsettling of Maria's life. Forget her move to America from Italy, forget her initial struggles to find a home here in the states - those things had been comparatively easy. Maria's life had changed a matter of weeks ago when Godfather Mako (GRHS) had been struck down by the Gods. In her state of shock and confusion, Cherokee had given Maria a home and allowed her to assist in the rebuilding of the Suburbs. In that time, Maria had truly grown to love her new family, to truly become a part of The Tribe. Sat on a comfortable couch in front of a roaring fire in one of the crews bars, Maria almost jumped clean out of her skin as one of Cherokee's burly bodyguards placed a hand on her shoulder and informed her quietly that Cherokee needed to speak with her. Her mind racing to figure out what she might've done wrong, Maria followed the bodyguard out of the bar and into a waiting car. Cherokee was sat in the back, along with Nighthawk and Choctaw. "Holy shit", thought Maria. "What the fuck have I done?!". She was so busy worrying about what may be coming, that she totally missed what Cherokee had been saying, responding with an incredibly intelligent, "Ehhh?" With a smile, Cherokee repeated himself. "Maria. You're going to be setting up a crew here in the Suburbs, as an extension of The Tribe. The driver is taking us to your new Headquarters now. You'll have to redecorate, but I think you'll love it." Maria fell back into her seat, slightly in shock - happy shock, but still enough shock that, quite remarkably, she was lost for words for once. "Setting up... a crew? Cherokee, it would be an honor, truly. Suburbs has so quickly become my new home and The Tribe have so quickly become my family, I'd be glad to dedicate my life to helping us in our next steps towards rebuilding." Looking out of the window, Maria caught sight of the full moon shining brightly above the skyscrapers that made up the city she loved, and a sudden stroke of inspiration hit her. "We're going to be called The Wolf Pack. No pack can function without every single one of its members working for the good of the rest, and that reflects how we do things here in the Suburbs." As the car pulled up and the driver opened the door, Maria caught one of her own bodyguards by the arm. "Get a message to Dexter, please. Tell him the Wolf Pack needs a Beta." As her feet landed on the sidewalk, Cherokee handed her a key. "Here it is, Maria. Welcome to your new home." A huge smile on her face, Maria slid the key into the lock and turned it. Pushing open the door to the Wolf Pack's headquarters for the first time, she knew it was the start of something special. |

Upon hearing the news of Maria's new crew, PaulHeyman jumped on the first flight to Chicago. Maria and Paul had long been friends, ever since their time together in Godfather Mako's (RIP) crew. A car met him at the airport and whisked him off into the Suburbs of Chicago. It pulled up outside Maria's new HQ. He got out of the car, knocked on the door and Maria opened it. Paul greeted her. Maria! It is truly wonderful to see you here; it is a day that has long been in the offing. Nobody deserves the chance to run their own crew more than you. It makes me immensely proud that I will be joining you on this run; I can think of nobody I'd prefer to stand side by side with. I just know that this is the start of something amazing, and we will be able to help Suburbs, and the city of Chicago as a whole, go from strength to strength. I'm sure Godfather Mako (god rest his soul) would have been immensely proud to see this day, and we shall continue on in his memory. Paul took out a bottle of tequila he had been saving for a special occasion, as well as some shot glasses. I think this calls for a celebration, doesn't it? Paul raises his glass. To Maria! |

This is certainly no surprise. I have never had the opportunity to work with you but through my short existence on these shores and by the journals of my fathers, you're certainly well deserving of this position. I'm looking forward to the great works ahead of you, congratulations Maria. Enjoy! |

Nighthawk stands up from his seat at the bar after Cherokee's announcement that Maria would be setting up alongside him in the Suburbs. "Maria, We haven't worked together for too long here at the The Tribe, but after Godfather Mako's untimely death and you taking up Cherokee's offer to assist the rebuilding of the Suburbs, I have been in awe of your potential from day one and I cannot think of anyone more worthy to set up beside Cherokee and continue the rebuild of this district to its former glory. A very well done on achieving what you've achieved so far and I already cannot wait to see what the future brings" On that note, Nighthawk gives Maria a big smile and strides out into the cold winters night. |

Sitting in his living room, drinking his morning coffee and reading the paper, Dexter relaxes for what is starting as another easy day. The phone sitting beside him starts to ring, and Dexter answers, "Hello?" |

A few days had passed since Choctaw last seen Maria. She was so busy after setting up her new HQ, with sorting things out and frankly Choctaw didn't want to annoy her. Choctaw walked past the HQ a few times but he soon realized no one was there. He decided to walk through the Suburbs doing his daily business. After all that was done he found a nice bar to pass the time. When he sat down a figure at the corner of his eye walked out of the bar. That person looked familiar, but who is it? Choctaw thought to himself, Could it be Maria? Choctaw followed the figure. As he stepped outside the sunlight dazzling almost blinded him. The heat was almost visible, bouncing off the hot pavement. Choctaw seen the figure take a right as it left the bar. After a couple of minutes Choctaw finally found the mysterious figure. As he predicted it was Maria. Choctaw face lit up and he grabbed her by the arm and pulled her to one side. Maria thought the person grabbing her was a assailant, using her quick thinking she turned Choctaws arm around to his back immediately. Choctaw let out a roar of pain. The adrenaline was pumping throughout Maria body rapidly so it took her a near minute to realize that the assailant was in fact Choctaw who wanted to talk. She quickly let go with a apologetic smile.
"I'm very sorry Choctaw, You scared the shit out of me" "Its okay Maria" Choctaw attempting to hold back the agonizing pain. "I would like to Congratulate you for getting authed. You have been doing tremendously well throughout your time in the Suburbs. I knew you were the right women for the job and you will do everyone proud. Especially the entire Windy city and deceased Godfather Mako, he is definitely smiling upon you today"
Choctaw discretely placed a present in her pocket a long with a bottle of champagne. He gave a quick smile and walked off to do some more of his daily business. |

Walking out humbly he looked around, the faint smell of rum on his breath, as he smiled with his clean shaven face showing off his dimple. Looking round the fine folk around him he simply smiled before clearing his throat. "Maria, it is a pleasure to see you lead and i hope to see your street presence instilled in those under you. Your outspoken approach has been highly interesting and i hope it inspires a new generation". Pausing as he buttons his coat. "I wish you the best of luck even though i am sure someone of your skill and intelligence doesn't need it" Walking away he raises a hand to bid adieu as he returns to his car |

With a smile from ear to ear, Gravity embraces Maria with a hug and a polite kiss on the cheek. "When I last saw you in Philadelphia, our meeting was cut short due to work commitments, but I just had to come to Chicago today for this. It's an opportunity that you most definitely do deserve and I cannot wait to see your good work reverberate through your family members. Cherokee has authed a diamond here!" Gravity smiles, offers his arm out for Maria to hold on to and starts walking to the nearest bar. "I think a few drinks between two old friends is in order!" |
