Caius sat down against the leaning post he had been leaning during the speech... could it be, another great leader leaving us? This wasn't the way it was supposed to be...
Caius stood up... brushed himself off and handed a note to the man being mauled, with a look of shock of Prozac's face, Caius opened his coat, and showed him for this... he was unarmed.

She doesn't allow the tears she wants to shed betray her, holding them back and forcing them from her green eyes. It had been knowledge that the Don of L.A. was going to be making a public appearance, spreading important 'news'. The event was one that she was not going to miss. Yet now that she was here she couldn't bear to stomach what he was saying. Marietta Rossi stood in the crowd as Prozac made his announcement, her arms folded across her chest, the corners of her mouth flicking down and then struggling back out of a frown. Now was not the time or place; she refused to break down.
It was a sad decision to come to terms with, but it was one that her husband had made that would make him happiest. Swallowing the lump that had formed in her throat she waited until the crowd had dissipated a bit before walking forward, tapping Prozac on the shoulder. When he turned to face her she shook her head sadly.
"I know that this is what's best for you. That is obvious. I just want to say that it has been wonderful working with you. You led a family that was happy and successful. For them it will be hard to see you go, and I echo their sentiments whole heartedly. So congratulations to the new Los Angeles leaders, but I am saddened that today they are losing a steady and able leader."
Leaning in close to the man she whispers, "We'll talk later," before flashing a weak smile, turning on her heel, and walking back towards her car where Pedro waited. |
