What an Awesome return Started by: Awesome on Apr 06, '09 19:31
There is a very well unknown legend that Awesome was born to no parents. Apparently, according to a not-so-trustworthy-and-quite-possibly-biased source, he in fact formed from pure awesome -- the very essence of his name-sake. 'Twould make him the anthropomorphic personification of the adjective, and would, indeed, explain a great deal of nothings.

Being that he was not so much a biological organism as an actualized concept, to speak of him in such terms as either 'dead' or 'alive' would be fallacious. And so this being the case, it would hardly involve a stretch of the imagination to understand how, after appearing to have shot himself in the face oh so many moons ago, Awesome once again graced the streets with his perfect and therefore unmatched awesomeness. Although, understandably, this would involve comprehending the almost incomprehensibility of his very ontology, and so I'll sympathize with you scratching your head in discombobulation, as is most likely.

But, for whatever reasons, be they many or none or something more or less than either, Awesome was there. Gracing the streets. With his perfect and therefore unmatched awesomeness. It must be an extra Christmas. Definitely not an early one. Awesome still wanted the December holiday.

He graced along the long and not-so busy streets of Detroit, admired the moon and the stars, and sang a song of gracing along the long and not-so busy streets of Detroit (because there is such a song; Awesome wrote it himself. True story). Suddenly, with all the rapidity of a quick occurrence, he almost tripped over a pile of rags; a pile of rags which promptly uttered loud expletives.

"Another one of ye, eh?" The man looked aged far beyond his years, and struggled to get to his feet.

Awesome extended his hand, and with only a moderate amount of grunting and swearing from the vagrant, the latter finally rose and brushed himself off.

"Don't suppose you could spare some change, eh? Ah, of course you can't. Lemme guess; five hundred bucks, all you got plus your name, right? Life savings, planning to start a new life here? I seen it all before."

He turned around, gratefully, and began to relieve himself up against the brick wall. Awesome, being awesome, did as Awesome did best; he removed from his Pocket of Awesomeness a brick, and hit the beggar over the head with it. The beggar fell onto the floor. Hard. And dead. Because he'd been hit over the head with a brick. And being hit over the head with a brick generally does more harm than good. And in this case, fatal harm. And no good. At least no good for the beggar. It was good for Awesome. Because now he had a brand new old coat.

Awesome admired his new image. It was admirable. He looked like a hundred dollars, despite his suit costing two hundred. Some might say he was robbed. Others might say he was gullible. And you know what? They're either right or wrong. According to Aristotle, at least. But I don't hold that much in agreement with that guy, if truth be told.

Anyway, after having admired himself and his new old coat, and with both a smile and a wink at nothing and nobody in particular, Awesome metaphorically walked off into the night with a spring in his step, a stone in his shoe, and a rather irritating and impossible to locate itch in his thigh.

Awesome watched the orange as it sailed through the air in slow motion, the sun glistened off its divine skin. With a push and shove, Awesome pushed and shoved his way past the people who weren't so much in the way as present, and dived towards the orange, arms outstretched in earnest. He landed, poorly, and the orange crashed into the back of his head. He got up, brushed himself off, picked up the orange, and began to peel.

You, Mr. HydroPhonic, are certified near-awesome. I love you as no doubt my father's father did. Kiss kiss.
