It was a cold winter day. Despite it not being winter. Weird things like that happen sometimes. Especially when Awesome comes to town. He's able to twist semantics in wonderful and not-so-wonderful and not-at-all-wonderful ways. It's one of his many gifts. He can also tense-shift. It's really rather clever. A lot of people accomplish this feat unintentionally -- idiotically -- but not Awesome. He did it with purpose. And with style.
But today is not just any normal-awesome day. Today was an awesome-awesome day. Today was the day the teddy bears have their picnic. Because they're celebrating. Celebrating Awesome's promotion! Yes, you heard correct. Awesome's promotion. Previously just a(n) (awesomely) lowly civilian, Awesome had worked and had worked and had worked once more to earn the title of thug. Yes, of thug. He was a big boy now. Before he was a somebody. Now he was the somebody. From indeterminacy to determinacy, Awesome had risen.
"Ladies! Gentlemen! ... Children! I come before you to thank each and every one of you! Thank you for allowing my awesomeness to shine so brightly! Thank you for making my awesomeness seem so much more awesome when in comparison to that of your own (none). Thank you for all the help I've received in receiving the honour of thugdom! And being that I received no help at all, this accomplishment is further testament to my personal and unrivalled awesomosity."
Awesome got down from the floor, being that he hadn't bothered to find a soap box with which to stand. He'd always wondered why people stood on soap boxes when making speeches. So people could seem them? He found it more suitable to wear colourful and flamboyant suits. And by climbing lampposts. And, of course, the nimbus of awesome which eternally circled his head might help draw the attention of the attentionable.
"Oh, yes, and one more thing; you ought to congratulate me, and praise me, and shower me with lots of love and hugs and kisses. And categorically so! May the power of Kant compel you!" |
