Strolling Through Bricktown Started by: Carmine_Ttrapani on Apr 08, '09 04:12
On the days he could get away from hot spaghetti and cold wine at Gato's Bruchetta pasta, Carmine would take trips to downtown Detroit. Take his nephew fishing, bet on some of the various horse and dog tracks, and of course take in his share of food. He had been to Bricktown a few years ago, it looked amazingly different now then it did back then. The once tattered warehouses industrial buildings were now gone, in there place stood very elegant loft apartments. Huge restaurants could be seen on every block, the kind where you had to wear a jacket and tie, and leave fifty-dollar tips everytime you eat there. On the corner of one block with huge doors open, you could hear amazing Jazz music being played and break neck pace, just one of the various live music joints and dancehalls. It was a very pleasant sight to see, for eyes as old as Carmine's. He sat on a bench outside of a flower shop, wiping sweat from his brow with his forearm, while his creased pants, white muscle shirt and buttoned shirt with a pocket on the front was comfortable, it was still hot. He felt like the tattoos he got when he was in prison were melting off. Across the street he noticed a local candy store, brimming with little kids and their parents, buying pounds of chocolate, eating ice cream and drinking soda pop with scoops of vanilla ice cream in it.

Automatically his mind had a truly criminal idea. A candy shop would be the perfect place to sell drugs. Who would think that a place with kids as the main customers would be selling mass amounts of Heroin and Cocaine? It was perfect, and with the prices of rent for the business' and lofts, he knew there was money to be had. He would head back to the restaurant and let Sal know what his idea was and that his was to the home of The Gato Regime's headquarters. But first, he had to get some ice cream, he sweatin his balls off.

This is actually not a bad idea. Just like a good mafioso to always be thinking of a new way to thwart the authorities.
