Tales of a Con Man | Started by: Hustle on Apr 10, '09 14:17 |
The con man stood in a darkened doorway of the Detroit city night car wisped passed him throwing the stale water high into the air. His breath turned instantly from steam into ice and blew off with the wind. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small lighter and a perfectly wrapped Cuban. With a slight hesitation he unwrapped the paper and light it filling the air with a cloud of smoke. He then looked at his wrist and muttered the time to himself. He then appeared from the dark doorway and began walking along the street with little spring in his step. The man was walking along the street when he caught eyes of the target as he walked around the corner and walked towards and then past him. Taking a few more steps he slowed and casually turned to follow the man. Throwing the cigar to his feet he kept his eyes in front of him watching every move made by the man in front. Realising he is getting too close he slows down a little and watches as the man turns in through a door and the began to creek closed behind him. Grabbing the door in panic the man slowly entered behind him and walked to the back of the room keeping his face hidden from the man and taking a seat at the table in the far corner. The stalker watched from his corner as the man sat at a table near the middle of the room peeling off his jacket and hanging it on the chair. He then stood up and walked to bar to get a drink. Trying to stay hidden the man stood up and moved to a table closer to the man and began to take off his jacket himself. The man arrived back at his table taking no notice of his new neighbour. After taking a sip from the glass he placed in on the table and began reading the newspaper in front of him. The man then made his move standing up to head to the bar. As he passed the man's chair he forcefully brushed against the jacket making it fall on the ground. Taping the man on the shoulder he offers him the jacket and thanks him lower the newspaper on the ground. Smiling he invite him to have a seat at the table. With a reluctant glare he walked around the table and smirked before turning to sit down. "So sir, what brings you here" "I heard they done good booze." The con man replied "Yes, they do but I really shouldn't be in here, I have work tomorrow." "ahh, I see, where is it that you work" "Im a dealer at that casino down the street" "That's not bad sir, what time do you start" The con man replied smiling discreetly knowing he had the right man. "Ten, why, gambling type are you?" "I don't mind a few hands of black jack" "You should pop along tomorrow" "I will see what I have planned" The two men continued to talk for another twenty minutes until the man decided he should head home. The con man left for home with a twinkle in his eye as the plans were in motion. |

The next morning the con man stood outside the casino and waited for his accomplice. Smiling at each other and nodding the men walked into the casino. The con man searched the room for the dealer and found him standing at a table on the right. The con man began to walk to the table and his accomplice watched from the door. Walking over a few minutes later he sat down at a sofa near the table and tried not to pay attention to the men. The dealer looked up and could see the man in front of him. He smiled as he watched him take a seat and place a chip on the table. The dealer dealt the hand and continued to until the hand was finished. Meanwhile the accomplice had caught the eyes of his friend who was also heading for the table. Without looking at the men she sat at the table and began playing her self. After a few more hands the dealer said to the con man that it was his break time and that he would be back in a few minutes. He invited him to have a quick drink with him over at the bar. The accomplice stood up and took his place at the table just after this. The dealer turned and shouted over at two other dealers standing at a desk a few metres away. One of the men walked towards the dealer and the dealer towards him. The woman was now reaching into her bag and as soon as the dealer's back was fully turned she reached out and grabbed the shoe of cards on the table and pulled her hand from her bag revealing an identical shoe. Swapping the shoes she placed the other one in here bag and placed the bag on the floor. The new dealer arrived at the table and asked for the bets to be placed. The accomplice and the woman both placed bets and the dealer began the hand. Once the hand was over both players had smiles on their faces even though they both lost. Both the woman and the man upped their stakes and bet a few higher cost chips. Surprisingly both got black jacks and so won a large sum of chips. The woman then reaches down for her bag and pulled out a small case, which she opened and revealed a selection of chips worth 10,000 dollars. She placed them all on the table. The accomplice placed all of his chips on the table. The con man had now arrived back at the table and also he placed a large sum of chips on the table as he adjusted himself on the chair. The dealer announced no more bets and began to deal. All three hands won and the dealers chip rack was almost empty. The trio played a few more games with low stakes still winning every time and left at different times so they were not attracting suspicion. They later met at the same bar as the dealer had met the con man had the night before and had a few drinks before going home to ensure their money was kept safe. |

Honest question: isn't a bump, like in many, MANY other places actually distasteful? Can't you at least disguise it by putting in the effort of saying something? | |
