| Back to Back Hitlisting | Started by: Patton on Dec 06, '14 03:33 |

Now I know this is a tender subject however, I have a small suggestion obviously needs some tweaking however, I would like to propose a limit per 24, 48 or weekly or bi-weekly maximum on posting hits. I know hitlisting is a way of our life and has been around since the beginning of time however if there was a limit it may help the back to back hitlisting victims keep some of their money, For example: Mafioso "A" post a hit on Mafioso "B" then "B" buys off the hit, now "A" buys the hit right after it's bought off and so on.... It would help the egregious mafioso "A's" from hitlisting back to back. If there was a "lets say" limit 3 hits every 72 hrs (of course up in the air) it would help the less fortunate victims keep some money they spend real life money on. Again, this is just a suggestion however the hit listing "in my opinion" needs some help. Any suggestions? |

I think a guy being able to post like 15 hits on someone is ridiculous. Personally, I don't even like the hit list thing, myself. |

"your target has drawn too much heat recently no-one will be able to find him for a while" maybe that for a message if same person gets hitlisted x amount of times in a day or something |

Personally, I think that you shouldn't be able to post multiple bounties on the same person at once. Like multiple people one one person. Say like 'Someone's already offering more money than you for him.' or something. If you want to add your hit, you have to raise the cost of the hit. |

| But in reality multiple people can place a hit on your head. | |

No, no limits to the hitlist. Imagine a 2k durden spawn where all the durdens are offline, and you can only post 3 hits per 3 days. That would just be silly. |

Agreed with Deadly and Chumba. Anyone can place hits on you. I've had dozens placed on me before, it happens. Best to just not piss anyone off! |

| I do think if someone is being harassed and stalked constantly there should be something to prevent that. | |

Find out who they are and shoot them? How about, just for once...we DONT ask the admins to make this place child friendly? Wipe your own asses for a change. |

The game is about killing, power grabs, political manoeuvring and organised crime. As long as the 'harassing' and 'stalking' is kept to IC and in game mechanics it's hard to fault it. It does cross into a grey area along with bloodlining and the likes, but hitlisting is the MR equivalent of guerilla warfare where one person can take some sort of a lone man stance (however frivolous, misguided and ultimately time wasting it might be). The reality is that if you're in the protection of a family, you have multiple guys to spot the hitlisting, have a families warchest to (potentially) pay it off and have numerous ways of dealing with it. If a family decides the person isn't worth the cash, if people don't pay enough attention to do something about it or if the 'one guy' is putting in more effort... then that falls under utilising the existing game mechanics rather than abusing them in my mind. |

whats wrong with stackable anonymous hits on one target, like instead of having 3 up for one person they just merge the bounty into one hit listing example: before anonymous liam neeson 500k anonymous liam neeson 50k anonymous liam neeson 1k
after
anonymous liam neeson 551k |

Because that doesn't show how many people think you're a dickhead. As Kyubey said. Don't piss people off and you won't end up on there. |

What's the benefit in merging hits like that Liam? It looks a little tidier (the only pro I can see tbh), but it changes the mechanic making it more difficult for the person being listed to buy off hits in a few individual steps and instead becomes an 'all or nothing' scenario. Personally, I'm happier leaving it as it is. It means either the guys doing the listing need to be smart enough to team up the cash before listing to get a merged list or else gives the (small) benefit to the guy attempting to buy them off. I can't see any real reason to want to change it... but I am open to hearing if someone else can post some positives it would bring that I haven't yet seen. |

I really consider this a step too far. There has already been an adjustment to the price of buying off hits. |

what i suggested was purely merging them visually, you could have the option to go in and buy off whichever one you could afford or perhaps it could auto select the most expensive yet affordable hit within the # contributors section |
