Marietta steps onto the doorstep of the brand new HQ. Knocking lightly, she waits impatiently for someone to answer. At long last a goomba, a young boy no older than seventeen, opens the door and stares at the woman in surprise and recognition. "Yes, hello," she says, pushing past him, readjusting her hold on the large parcel she held in her arms. "Which way to Pedro's office?" The boy, too stunned to speak, pointed towards the back hallway with wide eyes. Grinning at him she nodded her head. "Thank you kindly!" Turning on her heel she quickly made her way down the passageway, stopping only when she saw a dark, wooden door with a brass name plaque that read "Pedro Rourke". Fixing her hair quickly she turned the handle and jumped inside with a loud: "SURPRISEEEEEEEEE!" Pedro, slumped over his desk, jumped up to his feet quickly. From the large circles under his eyes and the wild look to his hair it was obvious to see that he had been sleeping. "Aww, poor baby, late night?" she asked, still unable to conceal her grin as she skipped over towards the man's desk and laid the present on top gently. Her friend of many, many years stared at her with raised eyebrows. Skipping over towards his side of the desk she snaked one of her arms around his waist and gestured towards the present happily. "Don't think I haven't heard what happened. Open it up! You'll love it I swear." With a soft sigh to himself the man shook his head and stepped forward towards the box. Lifting the top off his expression immediately brightened as he pulled out the brand new Walther PPK, in many ways like the gun that Marietta herself so favored. Squealing in delight Marietta clapped her hands and turned to face her friend. "Okay, I just had to get it. Don't hate me, it wasn't too expensive. I just heard that you were promoted to Don and... oh Pedro, I'm so proud of you. This is just amazing." Grinning once more, feeling like she would burst in happiness, she once more wrapped her arms around her friend's mid-section and squeezed. "Congratulations Pedro. You definitely deserve it." |

Having been celebrating for the last few days, Pedro was asleep at his desk when a sudden noise jolted him awake. He jumped to his feet to see Marietta at the doorway with holding something. As Marietta began walking over, the headache from Pedro's massive hangover kicked in. Noticing Marietta set the item she was carrying on the table, he began opening it. Thank you, Marietta. These past few days have been full of parties, promotions, booze, parties, re-organization, parties...and booze. Pedro examines the Walther PPK. This is a wonderful gift. Now I won't have to "Borrow" yours without you knowing. Pedro notices Marietta glare at him. ...Not that I would ever do such a thing. |

Hard work and dedication and look what happens... Don is a rank that must be respected , and for that have a drink or two.. or three on me and my pool hall!! Raises a glass and smiles at Pedro.. id vote for ya ;) |
