Monty steps out into a crowded streets in his black robes with a bible and cross in hand when a young thug bumps into him and tries to make off with the book in his hand. No sooner than the boy turns to leave Monty slips his pistol out of the sleeve of his robe and grabs the young man's collar then whispers something in his ear. As he releases him the boy apologizes and takes off running around the corner. Monty, noticing the commotion had drawn a bit of a crowd smiles to everyone. "Poor boy, God was with him today is all, maybe now he'll go to my church next time he's passing by." As he walks another block or so he notices the curious crowd getting bigger behind him then realizes what they are looking at. He looks at his robes and grins "So, y'all act like you never seen a preacher in the city before. Well, on second thought I reckon Chicago ain't the best place to build a church, so I understand." Monty walks to the middle of the street and finally grabs a box and climbs up on it holding his father's bloodstained bible in the air. "Hello fellow mafiosa, yes that's right, I've gone and built the church my father dreamed of in Chicago in hopes of maybe bringing some faith back to our streets. It's not much, I'll admit it, but it's still a place for those who wish to find peace or seek forgiveness to turn to, and it's mine. I'll be available to our world for any reasons, weddings, confessions, sermons, or even just an ear. It's known that every problem we have in the world can be covered by the bible. So, the next time you got something on your chest, or if you are planning a ceremony of sorts just swing by in Chicago, or write me a letter, I'll be sure to be around for you." Monty looks around hoping he'll see a few of the faces around him in his church on a later day |
