While I agree with the concept of the old ways, as it made it a bit more prestige's in my opinion. I believe those are cities not states.

If you want it to be that way, get to a position where you can make it so. Until you're in that position, either work to change the minds of those that have the power to do something about it so that they eventually agree with you or else button up and deal with things the way they are. 

Coming out here and crying because the world isn't the way you'd like it to be won't change a thing. You either need to change the consensus to agree with you or else find a way to implement the changes yourself.

PotatoeHead is right.History of Mafia isnt telling us anything about multiple Godfathers in one city.Godfather was a title taken by the strongest mafioso in the city and it had one and only purpose.The Godfather shall represent the whole city as the leading figure-the strongest  and the most respected among Dons in that particular city.Godfathers ruled the so called ''Commission'' created by Charles Luciano and their main duty was making the decisions about Mafia actions in the public and the underground community.

Though I doubt the other GFs will just abandon their posts in order to follow the course of history...Also in game the feature that each District can have its own Godfather makes the game even more interesting and diplomatic than the Cosa Nostra.Imagine there was only one GF in City.There would be wars each week.GFs will die,cities will be ruined.....because each lv 60 player will be striving for the title.

In the way the game is structured atm it is more balanced,because it gives you more opportunities(Hold Speeches,run businesses etc.) and actually gives you a chance to live up to 30 days at least.Because I have heard some old timers talking about the game in the years back.There has been a period when reaching Don title has been considered almost impossible.

Do you know what restrictions were on people in real life? None. That's the great thing about choice, free will and you know... freedom. It's great. It's the type of thing where people would possibly even fight for... maybe.

If people don't want multiple Godfathers in a city. Great. Stop others from setting up there. If people want multiple Godfathers. Great. Set them up there. If you think others are doing it wrong.... well, that's your problem not theirs. Either suck it up and get on with your life or else try and do something about it.

Anything that removes choices and options of how we decide to roleplay out our world is a negative in my mind. There's zero downside to allowing this. There is a downside to not allowing it. How you choose to roleplay within the world is your choice.... just as everyone else has the option of making those choices, whether you like them or not.

The saying isn't "rank up, all on your own, go on a big solo run all on your own and change the entire world all on your own", it's rank up and do something about it. Hell, that saying doesn't even mean you have to rank up to Godfather. It just means you have to do enough work to earn some respect and have enough people listening to your ideas to actually think about taking it on board in this case. It's perfectly accurate, it has been done and it will be done many times again in the future.

Yes it requires others. It requires allies, friends, loyal family etc etc etc... but it still requires someone to actually do something before any of that matters. And that's a good thing, not a bad thing.

If one of the current GF council wanted to make changes in this area, they could (or at least try... other GFs could try and stop them). If they don't, it's because they're happy with things as it is. It isn't because they can't do it, it's far more likely they just don't want to. Just as they could make changes that impact any and every aspect of the game.

There's a point being missed here... but I can say with full confidence I don't believe it's Chocolope or I that are missing it. 

You're interpreting a vague and ambiguous statement in a very specific and narrow way. I'd say you're being over literal with it, but it doesn't even explain taking such a narrow view on the statement. It's a big world out there. Consider what else those words might mean, it's not as narrow as you seem to believe.
