The Great Cthulhu sluggles his way to the center of the crowded street with a pedestal carved with indecipheral characters tucked under his wing. Placing the pedestal on the ground he squats upon it, looking into the eyes of those assembled and starts to speak.

Today I have been given a great honour. Today I stand before you and announce that The Cult of Cthulhu have been given the responsibility of returning the city of New York back to it's former glory. New York has seen a number of fine leaders in its time. The tradition of excellence that runs through it's streets is humbling. Seeing Broadway lit up once again and the theatres and shopping districts full of happy people has been a personal goal of mine for quite some time. Rest assured. We will rebuild. We will fill the skies with flashing lights, and we will fill the streets with excited citizens. New York will once again be a mecca for arts and entertainment and a safe place to bring up your own family. The city that never sleeps. Unparralled professional sports teams. World renowned art galleries and museums. Five-star dining. New York, New York, you're my kind of place.

The Great Cthulhu spreads his arms wide and moitions for the crowd to step closer.

It won't be easy, nor will it happen overnight. It will be a monumental task, to be sure. Thankfully we have the support of Scandia and Oliver McTavish without whose help we would all be in dire straits. The addition of the Families of Three and Proteus is a welcome boon as well. The Cult of Cthulhu will always conduct itself with honor and integrity and pledges allegiance to these fine families. As friends, and as allies. We are not a family built upon a warrior tradition. We have no use for violence or attrocities. We do not lust for control of all the cities. The Cult of Cthulhu will have their hands full taking care of New York and meeting its citizens needs. That said we shall endeavour to aid those in need in any city, through charity work and contributions towards education and a better way of life. We wish to help. We wish to educate. We thank each and every one of you for this opportunity.

I realize that many of you have questions and concerns. I also realize that some may see this as just a matter of convenience. However you do perceive it know this; I didn't enter into this as some sort of starry-eyed kid with no experience and little knowledge of the ways of the world. I realize fully and understand what will be expected of me and this family. That our every move will be circumspect.
