It was all over the news. In Detroit, a crackdown was going on. Several members of the Riot had been arrested, after taking rather expensive...donations. Several of the top dogs had been taken down, like Death-Knight and Aurora. Even Marietta had gone underground, and her compound had been captured. The Riot was waivering, faltering under the oppresive thumb of the police. Fever turned off the radio in his car. He sighed. It was going to move from Detroit to Vegas, and from Vegas to LA. He knew it, saw it coming. After a long day, he finally pulled up to his home. He looked at the windows, and saw something was wrong. The lights were off and the blinds closed. He loaded his pistol and took a second from the glove compartment, stowing it safely in his pocket. Fever got out, closed the door, and walked up to the house. He unlocked the door with a click, and it swung open. Everything happened at once. He heard his wife scream, and a gunshot echo. He flipped on the light switch and dived the stair railing that led down into the basement. Fever used blind fire to shoot at the fuzz, and heard a yell of pain as he hit one. His confidence flared, and he drew the second pistol. With a yell, he spun and stood, opening fire on the cops that stood before him. They all fell. He went into the kitchen. His wife sat, tied to a chair. Blood poured profusely from her head, which sagged. Fever looked down and saw his son, who held a pistol in his own hand. Fever's heart burned with rage and sorrow, and he yelled. Tears ran down his face. A searing pain hit his head, and the world became dark. |
