| The Price of War | Started by: Vicodin on Apr 30, '09 21:23 |

Stepping out of his newly reoccupied retirement home, Vicodin exits the main gate leading inside of the large building, taking a glance at the crowd gathered outside of his home. With a solemn look on his face, a weary Vicodin takes a deep breath before stepping on his usual stack of newspapers left over from the night before. Its been a wild week, hasn't it? Three cities that have been weakened considerably, and one that has been entirely eradicated in itself. I'm sure there are many young ones asking themselves what exactly happened the past few days, and why. Let's go back a few days to the infamous coffee shop, Divine Lunacy. There, the frequent patrons Caius and tiggy, Midol's twin sister, and City Hall employee, were on a quiet evening. After exchanging a few comments, the conversation switched to an irrelevant argument brought on by Caius about things unrelated pertaining to this way of life, heading straight down the path to OOC Avenue. After this unpleasant little incident, and, ironically, after Caius apologized after a few choice letters to her city hall mailbox, strung in two other New York crewleaders into joining a war brought on based on false information. Those two, Phantom_Ghost and Noir, were also manipulated by Caius into thinking they had received Godfather Rourke's blessing. Hours later, the three families were firing away in Los Angeles, striking down my members. After waking up to a flurry of gunshot fire outside of the hotel I was visiting in New Orleans and receiving over a dozen phone calls matching the description of Caius and some of his higher structure, did I notice the same man leaving the hotel I was residing in, only to fall down the marble steps to the entrance - resulting in a lifeless corpse hitting the pavement on the other side, much to the shock of his bodyguards. After several hours of fighting with the other two crewleaders, gradually down to one, did Las Vegas come into the picture. Calling upon his last ally, Hypno and in effect Las Vegas came to the aid of Noir. With my chances of winning the war quickly diminishing, my friend and ally JimmyTheLionHeart came to my assistance in my time of need, along with the Philadelphia and New Orleans crews, also allowing me to temporarily set up shelter in Philadelphia as an emergency precaution to protect the safety of some of our members. What followed was the gruesome slaying of Las Vegas, and the loss of many of our own good men in the process, eventually culminating into the final member of Las Vegas, and Relentless, Benjamin_Button, falling. I will not try to spin the recent war into something it wasn't; this was a purely retaliatory attack brought on by the other crews which attacked Los Angeles, which in turn was brought on by Caius over letting anger over a completely unrelated issue, and person - get to him. I have always been opposed to relating coffee shops and this life of ours together - and this only affirms my stance on the matter. I am severely disappointed in the judgment Caius displayed which led to the deaths of easily over two hundred people in the course of two very bloody days which could have been easily avoided by not blurring the lines between the coffee shop and the lives we lead here. Philadelphia & New Orleans - Me, and my city, are eternally grateful for the assistance we received from you. I will never forget what we accomplished, side by side, in the face of ridiculous odds. I look certainly forward to working with both of your cities in the future. |

| I'm astonished that Caius would do that to be honest, although I've heard it off other people, I'm not totally sure he was the main instigator though. | |

After speaking briefly with one of the attackers It was brought to my attention that Caius was the main instigator. He was the one that rallied PhantomGhost and Noir into the attacks. He was upset about stuff that happened in the coffee shops and told them he was worried for his safety. He then went on to use GodFather Rourkes name to solidify his lies. Sadly it brought his demise and many others along the way. Even though I participated in this war, the reasons behind the war where rather sad. It was purely coffee shop stuff brought into our streets and world. This stuff should remain in our coffee shops. We have always tried to keep these two separate as they should be. By allowing it to enter our world we are setting a precedent for generations to come. |

Rourkey ambles onto the streets in a drunken stupor. After partying in the various previously-vacated Headquarter buildings of Los Angeles, Rourkey was a mess. The problem, however, was that most could not tell Rourkey's new shambly appearance from his usual unkempt style. Rourkey belched in the streets to clear his head and spoke up after Vicodin: Good sir, I have watched this war from a distance and my condolences and best wishes go out to all family members and next of kin of the departed. I'd like to humbly request one point of clarity from you in this very well spoken tale on the streets: I was present for the first volley of shots and my advisors pointed out to me that it was in fact a member of New Orleans who provided one of the first casualties on New York's side: Joker, a former member of Caius' who had taken up residence with Premier. Additionally I speak with a great deal of confidence in saying that I know Phantom_Ghost made an attempt on Godfather JimmyTheLionHeart's life and it was at that point that Philly and New Orleans became involved in supporting the Los Angeles side of the skirmish. Rumors have been swirling that Mr. LionHeart was the one who dealt Phantom_Ghost the fatal blow, but I have no confirmation on that point. I speak with full respect for you both as a Don and as a triumphant survivor of this war, but in my opinion your speech made it seem that Philly and New Orleans' involvement was merely a result of Las Vegas stepping into the fray. If I am mistaken, I apologize, but it seemed that after New York chose to attack Godfather Jimmy, both New Orleans and Philadelphia became equal participants in the battle and it was ultimately those cities who dealt New York, specifically Phantom_Ghost, most of their deaths. I saw Hypno, MacLeod, and Frankie_Gogolak stepping in as a result of the Philly/New Orleans entrance, and a friendship to Noir, rather than the other way around. Rourkey bows revently to Vicodin and passes him a glass of whiskey from his personal reserve. I come to you merely seeking clarity on this one point. I have seen many friends die on both sides of the war and I seek not to insult the dead, but to mourn them. I am sorry for your losses, especially when you clearly did not initiate the confrontation. I look forward to the rebuilding of our fair world and raise my glass to the bright future of all the Six Cities. Rourkey raises his glass of whiskey and toasts the crowd. Seeing there is no crowd, Rourkey toasts himself. |

Rourky some of that is correct sir... But if i may, After Phantom_Ghost was dealt the final blow Philly and N.O. pulled out of the war as since our aggressor had been killed... When Hypno was pulled in by Noir, Vicodin did indeed ask for assistance. Those are the basics.. I hope maybe it has cleared some confusion. Molecualr tips his hat to those present and strolls off |

| well no Odd, If you look at what I said I was making neither claims, nor opinions. On the subject of Caius, there were very few of his Crew Members up at that time. I can only imagine the plan was between him and the few he held in total confidence. | |

She steps foward, still dressed in black clothes of mourning and quietly speaks. In reference to the final shot taken on Phantom_Ghost.. It has not been stated to my knowledge that it was as a result of Phantom_Ghost shooting at Jimmy The Lion Heart. It was not an unprovoked shot. She steps back into the crowd forming around them. |

Looks on with a sense of pride I would like to say, I am impressed that people are willing to come forward with such explanations to the recent chaos. I also on the other hand, shelter a bit of fear. Shouldn't such details at least to some small degree be kept behind closed doors for those that know to know and those that don't accept ? I am proud to say that it was a pleasure to kneel beside my lil brother's casket. Knowing he always wanted the honor of breathing his last breathe in service to his Boss and his Family. We will rebuild, under the guidance and leadership of all remaining Godfathers, Leaders and the community at large. Looks to the sky and makes the sign of the cross |

Tibeius stepped up to the discussion and swore. He had been dealing with his fathers mistakes since he arrived fresh off the boat... but he had the right to voice his concern in an adult manor instead of the recklessness his father showed on that day of all days... I'll start at the top and work my way down. Don Vicodin, you stated the following: There, the frequent patrons Caius and tiggy, Midol's twin sister, and City Hall employee, were on a quiet evening. Correct me if I am wrong Don Vicodin, but I believe you have a few errors in your above speech, may it please you I'd like to point them out. Tibeius reached into his pocket and plucked a cowboy killer from a pack, lighting it with the strike of a match. Taking a slow inhale before continuing This started with my father looking for high cocaine, something he had done quite often. The response, "Scroll up and stop being lazy". The conversation turned foul when my father mentioned "Some of us work for a living". I do not believe it was my fathers intention that the statement be taken as the fact that "Tiggy doesn't work for a living". But, that he was merely working at the time and wasn't paying attention to the conversation taken place. However, she chose to take it out of that context and for the next 25 lines cursed obscenities at my father. At the end, my father asked "Are you done?" and was kicked from the channel, not once but twice. Additionally, he was then 'network killed'. At this, my father having a short temper, went into his old families channel and tried to ban her, to speak privately about the issue without her interfering. Naturally, it was a mistake, one which I'm sure he regrets in his grave today. With another inhale, he reached into his jacket and pulled a small towel, wiping the sweat from his face and continued Then sending a msg to her, asking why she was using the power of the Gods in a 'players argument' he was told repeatedly that she would merely call Prem, and let him know what he had done. What she didn't know, was that every action my father took, was told to Prem by himself, as his mentor. Don Vicodin, I do not believe that my father apologized in those letters, perhaps you could post the above letters you mention for all to see? Additionally, perhaps you could post a log of the said conversation in #DL and allow everyone to voice there own opinions about what took place. The first thing my father did, was go to two of his most trusted. Don Premier, and Godfather Rourke. Asking for advice, did it warrant a war? No, according to the Godfather. The Godfather, told my father he would not take part in this war, and strongly advised against it, however should my father still wish to go to war, he could without action taken by the Godfather on him. Finally, Don Vicodin, you said that he provided 'false information' to both Noir and Phantom_Ghost. This I believe you are sadly mistaken. My father said in his last memoirs that he had showed both the mail from said 'God' and unfortunately he didn't have the conversation in #DL logged. However, he described briefly what had happened. Then he re-read word for word what Godfather ThomasRourke had posted to him. Not using the Godfathers, (Who I might add my father loved like a father) name, merely stating that the Godfather had said should he wish to go to war without action taken from the Godfather himself he could. But the Godfather would not join in on the fight, and that he was on his own. A tear trickled down Tibeius's nose as he said the last few words... his hand shaking I know my father did not wish for this to turn into a full scale war, what he really wanted was the death of Midol. However, he knew that in order to take care of her, Don Vicodin had to be taken down as well. I commend you on your performance Don Vicodin. You are a true leader, your actions in this war, are commendable. I wish I could say the same for my father. With another drag from his cowboy killer, he waved his hand toward the cemetery My father, Caius lays there. The first of this blood line. He achieved what many dream of, the chance to lead a crew, but he was hot headed, and had zero patience. Especially for 'God Abuse'. His dying words were said to me, and repeated by Premier, upon joining him. Every action you take has a consquence. Some good, some bad. The choices you make in this life, don't only affect you, but everyone surrounding you. I would like to apologize to all that have fallen because of my fathers actions. |

Sir, I do believe bringing transcripts of the discussions between you and my Aunt tiggy would be contradictory to what these Streets are about as it would not comply with the guidelines set forth. I am sure if you contact my Aunt tiggy for the copies she would supply them to you as it was her involved. I am sure there are many contradictions to your version of what happened, but I as Midol's daughter, will not discuss my Aunt tiggy's affairs. There's a saying though, what happens in the coffee shops .. Stays in the coffee shops. It's a lesson many of our bloodlines have learnt time and time again. I do not wish to turn this discussion into a bickerfest. Nor will I participate in an argument with your or anyone else acting as the voice for my recently departed mother. The fight was not with her, the fight was with Aunt tiggy. Something you need to realise. Aunt tiggy and Midol are not the same person, sure they looked alike and everything, but they are not the same person. Midol, God rest her soul, was right hand to The Pharmacy: Shoreside Hills Division... tiggy is an employee of City Hall and an investor in many properties located in Jaundies Town. Two completely different people. I can see why my mother was confused when your father decided to contact her instead of Aunt tiggy and why she was being punished for her sister's actions in a matter that did not even pertain to these cities rather a city that is not even located on our maps. She turns to see people looking sadly at a mud puddle by her feet. I shall not partake in any mudslinging to appease anyone. Now is a time of rebuilding families and cities. |

listens to the dons speach and sighs It was a bloody few days thats for sure. Too many good people on both sides died a violent death. But then hell the business we are in no one gets to go peacfully in their sleep. My respects to all the fallen, honour was shown clearly on both sides as they sturggled against one another. |

Tiggy at the centre of another ridiculous, petty argument? Never, that can't be so, she gives everyone cookies in her usual mumsy fashion! Well, inbetween her own frequent petty fits and chucking toys out the pram, that is. Quelle surprise! Well done to those who made subsequent speeches detailing a fuller, fairer picture. It was a war, no one was wrong, no one was right, it was just a war. Everyone involved had earnt (or bought) the privilege of starting one if they so chose. Someone won, someone lost. Move along. |

There are always 2 sides to a story, some may feel it wasn't Caius who instigated it, others will say that he did. At the end of the day, only one side of the story will stick and that's the one from the victorious side. That's just one of the perks of winning a war like this you crazy kids. The war is done, the victims lie at the bottom of a lake, river or ocean. Arguing over what started it all would be fruitless. |

Mr. Muller, I don't think that there's any confusion here. Both the winning and losing sides, including Caius's own son, are in agreement that Caius pursued the course of war and kicked this one off in his desire to eliminate Midol. The fact that that desire to war began with some sort of fray in the coffeeshops has also been verified by both sides. This is one of the rare situations where the losing and winning sides seem to be telling the exact same story, with the exception of how they feel about the nature of that coffeeshop disagreement. Which is irrelevant, since the coffeeshops are not meant to spill into our world. In theory. Again, Caius's son has taken responsibility and even gone so far as to apologize for his father's actions. So lets not muddy the waters. |

Vicodin, I would have to say your information is accurate. If people so choose to disagree and run their mouths as such, then they may as well. The point is that this war is thankfully over and done with, and we all paid our price. As an insider to what happened on that day, I would say that you hit the nail on the head. Caius did in fact string all of us along and was the first to get killed, so we all knew our deaths would come shortly after. It happens and I hope we can all move on from this. I do agree with Gravol, though. Whilst this whole war was a very big deal to the Cities, I do believe it should just be left alone. Discussing it more will rehash old feelings, and so with that, I will not say anything more. You did a great job on your speech, and for that I applaud you. Angela walks off to the nearest park to sit on a bench. |

As much as people would like to pretend there is a separation between our streets and the coffee shops, there is not. In times gone by perhaps, though even that is questionable. Coffee shops are part of the game and many a war stems from there. Just like many an alliance, many a friendship, and many an auth stem from there. If anyone thinks differently they are being naive. |
