I stepped over the last of the body's, watching my lock man work his magic, the lock clicked and slid open, and he glanced back at me with a smile "27-52-0-3" I whisper and grin at his shocked look. "A dose of my drugs and the bank manager sung like a blue bird. Surprising what a little charm and allot of drugs can bring about" "He just now sung?" The man says, raising his eyebrow, "Normally your faster then that." "Which is why the man's dead now, He resisted my charm till the very end, sadly, daddy won't be coming home tonight. Get the door open, we need to be out of here soon, we've wasted enough time with the after hours staff, the shift change will be soon." I stopped whispering, matching his volume, there weren't any other in the building, just me and my lock man, what was his name again? George, no, Frank, No, James? No no, Michael.. "Yes, ma'am," he says, "your world in paper, all of it green." I chuckle, and offer him my arm, not quite trusting him not to close me in, I hated small spaces... specially lockable ones, I never did well as a jail bird. "Come, your shares here to, Lets see how much of this we can fit in the car." I wink at him, and we walk in side by side. Jessie? Stewart? Ivan? John? oh, yes, Jack, how could I forget. He laughed and took my arm, supporting me gently as I stepped over the raised step into the vault and we began loading the small pushcart resting outside the door, as we finished loading it I walked over to the private boxes the bank kept for valuable keep sakes not of the green variety, I began fitting kets into the locks and pulling them out, dumping them on the floor, grabbing any jewelry and jewels and dropping them into bags. Jack joined me shortly and began picking up paper work off the floor, bonds, ID's, PassPorts, all would be useful to him, but not to me. "this is the last row." I said as I dumped the last box on the floor, the bag of jewelry satisfyingly heavy, I grinned at him. "Lets hit the road Jack. We've got what we came for." He laughed, "Yes, lets." He grabbed the cart and we headed for the back door, then I stopped, grinning. "I have an idea, lets shove all the bodies into the vault before we load the car." He nodded, leaving the cart by the back door with my jewels on top we carried all the bodies into the vault. There wasn't much blood, mostly they were poisoned, Funny, these security types would eat any thing left in the break room where they spent most of their shift. It'd been easy getting in, I picked the back doors lock and set off the alarm, vanishing into the break room closet while the security ran around, the doughnuts were slipped onto the table at shift change, and I let Jack in about 20 minutes after that. I'd been happily surprised to find the manager had stayed late to count the last of the registers cash into the vault, Jack had caught him a bit before shift change and handed him to me to entertain while he worked. The manager had been the stubborn type, refusing to talk to me about any thing, even as I sat on his lap and tried to be nice, he held out till the end, forcing me to use the last resort, a drug I used rarely and only when I was done using all the others. He'd cracked as his body jerked and twisted on the floor, torment and agony twisting his face and he screamed, then begged me to make it stop, whispering the number to open the safe vault, and I'd ended his pain, quickly and quietly. I found his body on the floor in his office where I'd left it, and Jack and I lifted him, the last of the dead and carried him down the hall past the break room, Glancing in, I saw one guard on the floor, not dead, but not awake, So he'd found the lucky doughnut, I pointed him out to Jack. His was the last body tossed in the vault, I smiled as we loaded the cash into a hidden compartment under the back seat and drove off. The dark blue car seemed to purr happily with its load, or was that me? The robbery made the morning news, and the midday news, even the night time news, "Unknown cat walks off with a quarter million in jewelry alone, leaving only one survivor in a coma." The morning news cried... changing to "Only survivor wakes, Cat still unknown, cops seek information." That evening, it was simply a story, "Cops pull bank apart looking for clues, Still no info on cat burglar." I smiled happily, tucking the last of my share into a hidden compartment in my bedroom, I'd spend it slowly, wouldn't even quit my job, just slowly work this into my life. No one would connect me to the robbery any ways, Jack didn't even know my name, Funny, he hadn't even questioned me telling him not to ask, wonder if Jacks he's real name... Then again, what did it matter, we knew how to reach each other when we had another job to run. |
