Just One More Roll Started by: Ragnarok on Jan 22, '15 23:21

it had been a beautiful day in the big apple. all his contacts had provided solid information, leading to multiple profitable deals. the girls on the streets had done their parts well, racking in a nice pile of cash from last nights work. everything was settled up and ready to go, so Ragnarok hailed a cab and headed towards the local casino. the urge to dice and drink weighed on him, so like any good itch, he had to scratch it. upon arriving at the casino, he headed directly towards his favorite seat. it just so happened that his favorite dealer was manning the tables tonight. everything seemed to be lining up properly!

This is it, I'm going to be rich

he grinned in excitement as he took his first big bet of the day. no need in starting out small, he went for the gusto every damn time. house wins, he cusses like a foul mouthed sailor. reaching into his inside pocket, he pulls out another small stack of cash. the dealer smirks as he takes the cash and rolls. house wins again. two rolls and he is already down 200,000. he nods his again towards the dealer, clenching his fist as he does it. this surely will be a winner. another roll, this time he wins. the smirk starts to appear on his lips, he nods to the dealer again. the dealer rolls, another win for ragnarok.

I'm even again, bring me a drink! Roll again man, I'm just warming up

the dealer smiles and rolls, another win for ragnarok, the smirk grows. He ups the pot.

Are you sure you want to do that sir?

the dealer was familiar with ragnarok and his gambling issues. he felt compelled to ask before continuing. the gambler waved his hand and the game continued. house wins, the dealer ask if he wishes to continue, he nods, the dealer rolls and wins again. ragnarok throws back the drink that was just bought to him and ask for another roll. another loss, and another reach into his jacket pocket. the remaining cash to his name. $500,000, money that was promised to his boss, Godfather Curtis. Without a second though, he placed it on the table. This would be a big win, a win to put him back in the game.

the dealer feels uncomfortable at this point, but he accepts the bet. while its his job to man the tables, he feels for the degenerate sitting across from him. during their various dice encounters, he had gotten to know the man a bit. hot headed and short on temper, but a loyal man who would do anything for his family. watching him throw his money away was becoming painful. once more he asked if ragnarok was sure.

YES, I'M FUCKING SURE. ROLL THE DAMN DICE, I'M NOT WALKING OUT OF HERE BROKE DAMNIT

security at this point heard the commotion and walked towards the table. a mere wave of the hand stopped them in their place, their trust in the dealer being absolute. he rolled the dice and signed. house wins again, and ragnarok is absolutely broke. he knows this by the look of despair crossing the mans face. the dealer stepped away from the table as ragnarok began to bitch again

I'm out of cash, but I've got credit man. You know I'm good for it. Just give me a few rolls to get back in the game and we'll be straight. I just need to get even man. You know Godfather Curtis isn't going to be happy about this.

the despair on ragnaroks face was heartbreaking, but the dealer had been told not to extend any more credit to him. with an apologetic smile, he explained the situation and started to step away from the table.

Wait damnit, wait. I see a friend. Raoul_Silva, my man come over here. Please man, don't act like you can't hear me

the mention of Raul's name from ragnaroks mouth caused him to make a hard left straight out of the casino. he knew better than go anywhere near the gambling addict. ragnarok saw his friend walking away and knew all hope at this point was lost. he took off his gold watch, given to him by a friend on the day he became a made man for The Factory, and threw it on the table.

Give me 10,000 for it. It's worth 50,000. You can hit the local pawn shop and at least double your cash man. I really need this. I've always tipped you well, don't let me down

the dealer shook his head in apology, then nodded to security. the two thick necked muscled goons grabbed ragnarok by the arms, dragging his kicking and screaming body away from the tables and out into the cold cold night. as the goons threw him against the dumpsters, ragnarok groaned out a final phrase

Damn you Barry
