Mississippi's Outhouse. Started by: Mississippi-Floyd on May 09, '09 13:44
Having been silent in the public streets since his entrance to the underworld and watching his father's assassination take place right in their livingroom while Floyd Sr. took his daily nap.

Ole FastTalkingFloyd thought it would be wise to stay quiet and keep his peace until he could carry his own weight.

His own weight being Mademan. Afterall, his father wrote in his journals that many of the top crime bosses and their associates stated, "Earn some stripes and you'll be heard".

*Floyd grabs a milk crate off his old 1930's Ford Deluxe Pickup and begins to call the crowd over*

*straightens his hat and takes a swig of his Mississppi moonshine*

*Floyd Sr. was more of a businessman and scholar, Floyd Jr. was a plain ole drunk, with small pieces of wit that his father left in his genes*

*Floyd checks his pants pockets for that wit his father left*

Ow well.

Hello everyone! Floyd here. I've been quiet, but I've been watching. I haven't spoke, but I've heard.

Today I want to discuss THE OUTHOUSE!

Back in Mississppi, when you thought you were too big for your britches, Pops would take you out to the Outhouse and loosen them for you, if you know what I mean. A good ole fashion butt spanking.

Today I will list reasons why some of todays mobsters should be taken out to the good ole OUTHOUSE....

1) When people comment on the street corners, with actions such as, "*Knocks blank over and steps up*, *slaps blank on the

head and continues*, *punches so and so in the face and speaks*, on and on.

Having seen my father die from such comments and learning that these such actions are not acceptable, you'd be

surprise that I've noticed upper structure mobsters doing so. Learn some manners or "TO THE OUTHOUSE!"

2) When passing mobsters in many cities, I have a tendency to stop and speak, a little southern hospitality you know. But

there are some who don't even respond, which makes the situation quite ackward. Did I not speak loud enough? Or did you

just choose not to hear me? Having said that, where are your manners? You know where, "TO THE OUTHOUSE!"

3) Ever been sitting in the slammer and your ceil mate keeps getting tossed in and busted out?

While you sit waiting patiently for this same criminal to return all the favors, that are now the cause for your jail

time, back.

Where's the gratitude? "TO THE OUTHOUSE!"

4) Is it really proper for someone to write don't mug me all over their suit, yet spend the majority of their time in

pickpocet friendly locations (excluding CrewLeaders)? Does this make you higher than the city mob laws enforced by the

Godfather or Boss of that city?

I don't think so! "TO THE OUTHOUSE!"

5) Last, but not least, those who assume they deserve respect because of their fathers, grandfathers, mother, or

grandmothers. They hold NO superiority with me and I'm sure alot of you may feel the same.

So to those gangsters and goombas who are decendents of a powerful linage, you hold no authority with me until you've

earned it just like your father did.

Don't agree???

*points to the back of the alley, located on the side of the street corner*

TO THE OUTHOUSE!!!

*hope back in his pick-up and drives off to a urgent call from Don Premier, his shoeslaces must need tieing again*

Global chuckles at what he hears

I wouldn't mind taking that Sids-Nan out to the outhouse to loosen her britches.
Report Post Tip
DorkRourke stops and ponders for a moment over this mans words.

Well Floyd, I would like to argue several of your points with you.

For starters:

When passing mobsters in many cities, I have a tendency to stop and speak, a little southern hospitality you know. But

there are some who don't even respond, which makes the situation quite ackward. Did I not speak loud enough? Or did you

just choose not to hear me? Having said that, where are your manners?

"If someone wishes not to speak with you then you may want to leave it at that. I am sure the silence is much more respectful that what they would like to say. Like my mother always told me If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say anything at all"

Is it really proper for someone to write don't mug me all over their suit, yet spend the majority of their time in

pickpocet friendly locations (excluding CrewLeaders)? Does this make you higher than the city mob laws enforced by the

Godfather or Boss of that city?

"I see no problem with people wanting to make sure it is known they do not wish to be pickpocketed. Even if they happen to venture into a pickpocket friendly city, they are taking on that risk but there is no reason they shouldn't be able to voice it for when they leave those cities. Hell, you never no, maybe someone would even be respectful enough to leave them alone even in a pickpocket friendly city."

Last, but not least, those who assume they deserve respect because of their fathers, grandfathers, mother, or

grandmothers. They hold NO superiority with me and I'm sure alot of you may feel the same.

"One that comes to these shores in their fathers footsteps is held in the same regards as their fathers once were. If their father was a no good two bit rogue, his son will be closely watched for the same aspect. If the father was an amazing Crew Leader, then te son will be looked upon highly in hopes that he will take over where his father left off."
Report Post Tip
Well DorkRourke we have to agree to disagree.

I must say I do understand your point about mobsters not speaking, they don't have too, it would be nice, but they don't have to.

Other the other hand, the other two I highly disagree with you about.

Let start by asking these questions:

>When it comes to mugging, what are the consequences of mugging someone not PP friendly?

Usually ends with some kind of fish or something.

Ok I understand that! They don't want to be mugged, that's fine and dandy. Here's the problem. Now they've enter a city where PP is allow because the highest authority said so. If not a crewleader, someone who has earned respect and has the authority to make a comment such as NO PICKPOCET, how can someone else enforce their personal laws on another mans turf?

Personally, I don't PP, but I don't see the logic in a city enforcing laws and people choosing not to respect them.

Mainly because the ending is death for those that choose to take advantage of the cities favorable laws. My opinion.

>Now about this whole father son thing. Just because someone makes a mistake with one person in their family line, does

not mean that the others will do the same.

Myself for instance, I learned from my fathers mistakes and I'm a better man.

Now on the other hand, about the whole:

DorkRourke--"If the father was an amazing Crew Leader, then te son will be looked upon highly in hopes that he will take over where his father left off."

I understand what you're saying, but how can we progress if he or she is look upon as the same person? This is how you get a recycle of crewleaders and no blood.

I feel as though everyone should have to work their way up through the ranks equally. Giving everyone a chance to advance and create their own legacy.

Men disagree, but communications creates understanding.

*takes a swig of his Mississppi Moonshine*

*then thinks, "what the hell did I just say"*
Report Post Tip
Im not positive what you are arguing on the pickpocket situation. I never said that one could enforce their own personal rules upon others once a higher command has made the decision for them.

As for the next of kin situation, I am sure you were closely watched upon your arrival to these shores to take your fathers place. People do learn from their ancestors mistakes but none the less are still closely watched to be sure they have learned.
Report Post Tip
Agreed!

*extends some Moonshine*

There's so many ways to looks at these issues. That's why I'm here!

*takes a sip of Moonshine*

Or was I looking for the drugstore? Ow well who knows.
Report Post Tip
Sorry I agree with Mississippi here, My bloodline has never made so much as an embarrasing stumble however It is still annoying seeing extremely well protected rich thugs who immediately become RHM followed by recieving their own crew at the rank of made man. Ok sure you can get points for having a respected father but it goes to father - they are not the same person and to treat them the same as if they were is letting (OOC) friendships encroach on our way of life.
Report Post Tip
sorry I meant to say too far instead of to father, thats a weird slip up.
Report Post Tip
I just have just one question, just a little simple one too.

Your father said that this was his first time on these shores. He explained it was his first time, etc.

But what I don't get is that, if that was his first time, and as he wouldn't teach you since supposivley he didn't know.

How do you know that befor the "Gods" used to call it mugging? Which has been switched atleasta month ago Pickpocketing?

I just want to point that out. Becuase getting mugged and Pickpocketed are very diffrent.
Report Post Tip
Loads of people still call it mugging.
Report Post Tip
Yeah people that used tom play when the "Mugging feature was on"

It is pickpocketing and yes some people still call it muggin, but those people where around when the old days were.
Report Post Tip
Yeah but its like if you here someone call it mugging then you might just think, oh ok thats just pickpocketing and then occasionally call it mugging yourself seeing as its the same deal.
Report Post Tip
I'd like to throw my opinion on this mildly interesting topic.

1) From what I recall, your father didn't die for "Knocking blank over and stepping up". I believe he made people hate him because he came as a know it all wise ass that being new to this world pretended to school us all. I still believe it was all staged, but I guess that's just me.

2) When you speak to me, maybe I spoke as I was walking away and I really didn't hear you, or maybe I'm just not interested in engaging in a conversation with you. In any case, you should just let it go instead of trying to force something.

3) If you are locked up in jail and a buddy from my city gets thrown over and over, I'm sorry but I will bust him out every time rather than busting you out. Now, if there are no more people awake other than you, yes, you may complain if I keep liberating people that are asleep instead of busting you out.

4) If I wasn't PP friendly, would you really expect me to stamp a card in my suit every time I fly out of the PP friendly cities and remove every time I fly in? The rules are clear and you already left the CLs out of the equation, which means that regardless of what my suit says you may PP me. What's the big deal? I'm not going to be changing my suit every time I fly just to please you.

5) An EWP Thug should not be of concern to you. That money is not coming out of your pocket. A RHM thug, though, I can relate to your complaint. I feel that it would be much healthier to let the young mobster take it just a bit slow before filling in his father's shoes, maybe take the chance of giving somebody else that role for a few weeks. Although it is proven that in the vast majority of cases, the offspring of loyal and capable mobsters quickly grow up to be as dependable as their parents.
Report Post Tip
Pickpocet-mugging, wacking-slugging, salesman-drugman, they're all the same to me Midas. You pick one and we'll call it that one. They all relate back to the same points.

It's basicly like everything is contradicting itself:

First I say, "When passing mobsters in many cities, I have a tendency to stop and speak, a little southern hospitality you know."

Then you all say, ""If someone wishes not to speak with you then you may want to leave it at that. I am sure the silence is much more respectful than what they would like to say."

Adrian stated, "When you speak to me, maybe I spoke as I was walking away and I really didn't hear you, or maybe I'm just not interested in engaging in a conversation with you. In any case, you should just let it go instead of trying to force something."

Is speaking and trying to get to no more people not a way of gaining trust and friendships? Which in turn will lead to that loyalty needed to trust other when positions of upper structure are available?

DorkRourke stated, "If the father was an amazing Crew Leader, then the son will be looked upon highly in hopes that he will take over where his father left off."

Adrian stated, "the offspring of loyal and capable mobsters quickly grow up to be as dependable as their parents."

WHat I'm trying to say is how can you get to know someone and what type of person they are if you don't give them a chance. Won't even say hello.

Just sounds like alot of talking out of both said of the head.

But still as I stated before, "Men disagree, but communications creates understanding."

That's why I'll bring these things to the street. I want to hear everyones stance on these issues.
Report Post Tip
Steps on a park bench so he can be heard and seen

So I have thought about these topics or "points" and will offer my pittance for what it is worth:

1) When people comment on the street corners, with actions such as, "*Knocks blank over and steps up*, *slaps blank on the head and continues*, *punches so and so in the face and speaks*, on and on.

I believe that people have become friendly and will show that in physical outlets especially when speaking in the streets... If I had the chance I would Knock Jono over, Step on him, Slap him for being lumpy under my feet and then punch him for making me slap him. All before I speak... But seriously, it is all in WHO you say it too and HOW you say it. For instance, Jono and my family have grown up as neighbors for many a year in this sort of world. He know's me and know's that I would lay my life down for his given the chance. How ever I would never imagine saying something like that to Thomas Rourke or Jimmy The Lion Heart because I do not know them in the manner Jono's family and I know each other. So if I chose to use their names in the streets, I am taking a inherent risk when doing so.

2) When passing mobsters in many cities, I have a tendency to stop and speak, a little southern hospitality you know. But there are some who don't even respond, which makes the situation quite ackward. Did I not speak loud enough? Or did you just choose not to hear me? Having said that, where are your manners?

Perhaps they are scared that someone they do not know are speaking to them. Perhaps they truly did not hear you in a timely manner (OOC check their mail before going on to RL). Maybe they just feel it not worth a response or usually in my case they are just not personable and don't want to make new friends.

Ever been sitting in the slammer and your ceil mate keeps getting tossed in and busted out? While you sit waiting patiently for this same criminal to return all the favors, that are now the cause for your jail time, back.

This will be a bit of a Hypocritical answer in some parts. I too would get frustrated in that event, if I was breaking someone out and then I was left to sit while the entire jail was cleared first. Here is the Hypocritical part, I also NEVER look at my personals during Jail Parties so could very well be doing just that.

Is it really proper for someone to write don't mug me all over their suit, yet spend the majority of their time in pickpocet friendly locations (excluding CrewLeaders)? Does this make you higher than the city mob laws enforced by the Godfather or Boss of that city?

I am of the belief that I should NOT have to post that I am friendly to being beaten up and robbed. I figure no person in the right mind wants to be a human ATM to those bigger. How ever, I have also found that most people leave you alone if you don't carry a lot of cash. I also carry my wallet strung over the arse area of my man thong ( I have the elephant one with the trunk and all it is cool), most people prob don't want to risk catching something by digging around back there.

Last, but not least, those who assume they deserve respect because of their fathers, grandfathers, mother, or

grandmothers. They hold NO superiority with me and I'm sure alot of you may feel the same.

You don't have to show a civi, thug, gangster, goomba or what ever lower rank you want respect IF you choose not to. How ever to assume that their families closest friends will not is a bit naive. Also remember this, respect is earned as you are driving at. How much respect are you earning by assuming everyone is lower than you just because of the color of their suite?

takes a deep breath and leans on his knee's

Damnit I need to learn to breath when I speak...
Report Post Tip
Its not an assumption, they are lower because of the colour of their suit and having a father who was a crew leader doesn't change that. When my son comes of age I wouldn't even expect a goomba to kiss his ass. There are people coming straight off the boat who aren't given any chances however civil they are or their earning power who are sidelined due to inappropriate mollycoddling of thugs who happen to have had a powerful father. With this state of affairs it is no wonder that we find ourselves surrounded by fewer and fewer people all from the same bloodline, its downright incestuous.
Report Post Tip
NBF please do not miss understand what I am saying,

I do not mean that they should be Molly Cuddled or given chances ahead of others ranked higher. But it doesn't mean that they are not to be respected etc. For example, they may have a greater knowledge of how this thing works from watching and learning from their father. So they are automatically worth more from a knowledge stand point than someone who is fresh to our world with a higher rank. It doesn't mean they should get gimme's or etc but they should be respected for the knowledge they can bring...
Report Post Tip
Oh yeah sure, that makes sense, however I'm referring to Mississippi's point that these people hold no superiority which I think is only fair. Respect in the mafia is very different from how it works in normal life - respect normally is always a two way thing. In the mafia shit rolls downhill and that should always be the case.
Report Post Tip
And that, NewBestFriend, is called to politics of life. Simply get used to it. The majority has to work harder to prove themselves; so be it. If you are not willing to push that extra mile that some don't have to, then you obviously aren't cut out for holding a position of power. These bloodlines came out fresh just like yours and mine and had to prove themselves over top of others as well and look where it has gotten them.

They beat the odds and rose to the top. They didn't stand in the middle of the street and whine about it, they did something about it.
Report Post Tip
I'm not whining about anything because I have not been affected by this (god this whole 'stop whining' argument is getting a little old isn't it?). I am pointing out the fallacy of viewing a bloodline as a single person. The mafia has little to do with blood unless it is italian blood it is and should be more concerned with business and earning power.
