Gun Icon Idea Started by: Louis-Manciagli on Jan 29, '15 05:28

Today I had a bit of an idea and I want to see what others think.

Anytime a new person comes along they want to know.. "How do I buy guns?" or at least a handful of new players have asked me this. I propose that we add a gun feature that is so very simple that it will entice players to get one but doesn't change the mechanics of the game at all. Just have tier system, like for instance +100 shot rate you achieve Handgun,+200 shotgun +500 Tommygun, etc etc (add many other tiers or diff weapons). And just add a very small Icon on the players profile when they achieve this, and only so ONLY the user can see it and not others. That way people can feel as though they achieved a Tommygun like shot rate before they died, but don't have to tell anybody about it unless they wish to. Maybe this could add an added desire to some of the young-bloods or even vets to want to achieve this milestone or trophy on there profile.

Just throwing an idea out there, tell me what you all think, add to it, throw it in the trash can, kick it around a bit, maybe even show your support to actually use it. Just voicing my idea to the world.

Wouldn't this ruin what ever little mystery is left in figuring out what your wack stat is?

I was just sitting there after a new player asked me how he buys guns and thought of it. I'm not even sure if I support it, I was just offering an idea to the world.

Myself and a mate also had a similar idea to enforce this amongst ourselves. Like, based on your SR we would say we had this gun, or that gun, and even role-play using that specific weapon in our posts etc. yet we figured people would too easily know what we had.

With an image there, it would obviously alert us to what bracket our gun is obviously in, yet it wouldn't tell us exactly unless the image just changed on us from say a shotty (+200) to a tommy gun (+500). Then maybe the next bracket is 800, then 1000. It'll still mean we should be keeping note, yet it would definitely make it easier to manage hitters come war time.

Instead of asking people what their SR is, we could just ask what gun are they currently using and it would be easier to co-ordinate. Then if we needed more specifics, they would then also be supplied as SR's would still be used for specific precise hitting.

I actually like the idea.

The con would be we would personally more readily know our own stats, and wouldn't have as much of a need to keep records for every kill if we wanted to play more casually. We could 'wing' it and just keep an eye on when our gun changes. This may seem lazy, or even cheating given the current way we train and recognize someone's gun, yet it would still need someone to be accurate with their personal stats to truly know if their revolver is stronger than another's. If someone didn't keep an accurate account of their training, a shotty would always be considered 200 just in case, even if the next bracket is 500.

Or some crews may just ask for those that carry a shotty to start submitting shot reports.

I like it. Due to tradition I would assume some would see this as a negative thing, interested in knowing others views.

Alrigh what if someone prefer shotguns more than Tommy Guns, and during the gun training process they lose their shotgun and take a Tommy Gun?

The change of the looks of ppl's guns might not be the change they like.

Report Post Tip

Maybe they can upload their own images, period. I don't like the look of the default suits, yet they change with the ranks, and we can also change them to whatever we wish.

People might even start using water pistols, water balloons, ray guns, love hearts etc. as their weapons of choice.
