Poem For Mother. Started by: AlfonsiTimello on May 10, '09 01:06
Alfonsi Steps out the doors of his HQ wanting to address the public. He takes out a fresh cigar and lights it, taking a few puffs and blowing the smoke out over the crowd. He walks to the edge of the balcony and clears his throat.

'Ladies and Gents, I have an announcement to make "We in Philly have decided that today is a great day for a contest. Mothers day is a wonderful day and we have decided that it would be the best day to shell out 1 million dollars.'

'What is this contest you may ask? Well we will be calling on all our cities poets for this one.'

'We want to hear poems about mothers. Original work of your own. Should we catch any plagiarism we will disqualify you on the spot.'

The way the winnings will work will be as followed.

1rst place: $750,000

2nd place $200,000

3rd place $ 50,000

So poets show us what you got. Show Mothers what they mean to you in a poetic way!

All poets may recite there work here.

Alfonsi throws the cigar to the ground. He looks up and out over the crowd once more before turning around to head back into his HQ

Role of our Mother

You're the master of every task.

You're a dependable source of comfort;

You're my cushion when I fall.

You help in times of trouble;

You support me whenever I call.

I love you more than you know;

You have my total respect.

If I had my choice of mothers,

You'd be the one I'd select!

Happy Mothers Day!

Mother, Oh Mother.

Mother, oh mother, you put me on this earth,

and still love me even though,

I put you through a painful birth.

Mother, oh mother, you raised me to be mature.

We may have had our ups and downs;

my love is what you can always endure.

Mother, oh mother, this should go with out say,

that you know that I love you,

and to have a fantastic Mother's Day.

Walls of your womb, Safer than any Haven on Earth

Through pain, suffering, and love, you gave birth

This goes out, to mother's and figures alike

Thank you, I hope your heart, my words strike

Angels in training, what mother's truly are

On this single day, mother, you are the star

Now is your time, I love you, kids say

We truly hope, you have a happy mother's day

God made a wonderful mother,

A mother who never grows old;

He made her smile of the sunshine,

And He moulded her heart of pure gold;

In her eyes He placed bright shining stars,

In her cheeks fair roses you see;

God made a wonderful mother,

And He gave that dear mother to me.

I may not be a good son,

Yet you give me what i want,

You always protect me,

And hold my hands whenever i am sad.

My mom is the best of all,

She guide us the path not to be fool.

You are the light of the darkness that we fear,

We will repay you with love and care.

Happy Mothers Day Mom!

Godmothers aren't fairies in a tale,

Offering a world that cannot be.

Demand of them glass slippers and they fail,

More likely to do favors naturally.

On them you can depend for a relation:

They offer gifts and guidance with a kiss.

Having taken on the obligation,

Each freely out of love gives what she is.

Real godmothers have no wands or wings,

So they must work with wisdom, love, and things.

For my mother

Who fed me from her gentle breast

And hushed me in her arms to rest

And on my cheeks sweet kisses prest

Tis but my mother and she does it best

When sleep forsook my open eyes

Who was it sung sweet lullaby

And soothe me that I should not cry

Tis but my mother,asking with a caring "why"

And when I see the hung thy head

Twill me my turn to watch your bed

And tears of sweet affection shed

Oh my dear mother my heart doth bled.

This is the day I say how much I love you.

Your the aid that mends my heart.

I stayed with you all my life,

Always together, never apart.

We smiled, we frowned, we laughed together.

Even when I just did something bad.

You just give out to me and forget it like it never happend

You would keep me from been sad.

I loved it when you sang to me,

before I went to bed.

You picked me up when I got hurt.

"big boys dont cry" you said.

Now I'm older I appreciate you more.

So my love is my best present to give.

I wrote this poem just say,

Mam have a lovely mothers day.

Missing you very much, smiling down from heaven
Only time can heal this gaping wound when I lost you September 11th
Time and time I cry myself thinking of your smile
Hearing your voice inside makes me happy, you call me 'silly crocodile'
Extreme the lengths you kept me safe, Thank you my Umbrella
Remembering times you tucked me in, reading Cinderella
Summers coming, sing and smile, I bake you this Delicious Cake

Days of days, My favorite day, Mothers day of coarse.
Always remembering your gift to me, with every breath I take
You'll always be by my side, like you always have. . . now lets eat some cake.

On the day my mum was born, she was loved, she was adored.

Her time came to birth her own, and since that day my love has grown.

I shout to treetops, steeples, clouds, I love my mum and i say it proud!

So in conclusion, with no ado, Today like tomorrow, I'll always love you.

Todays your day my dear old mum, here's to you my poems done.

Mom, I love you.

^^^ That, quite plainly, said to any mother, will probably bring them to tears and would mean more to them than any of these poems, therefore, I win.

William nods intensely

Gentle-eyed warrior; Soldier of truth

Keeper of love; Mentor of youth

Enduring your chains so that I may be free

Enticing the light, for all blind to then see

Carry new hope inside of your womb

A new treasure awakens, a spirit shall bloom

The reason of my being, the roots of my tree

The life in my laughter, the strength that I need

You have always been to my heart so dear

Happy Mother's Day, to the mother of the year

Stepping out onto the barren street where Alfonsi was holding the competition, William coughs and speaks up,

"Any idea when the winners will be announced?"
