Los Angeles Meets Dashenham Started by: Vicodin on May 14, '09 00:29
With a quiet stare at a tan colored hacienda just outside of the Anaheim city limits along with his left hand man, Voltaren, Vicodin took the small piece of paper in his hands which contained directions to the location and folded them back into his pocket. Going through the small lychgate which was between two large walls of brick, he walked on the small stone pathway that gradually took him to a large fountain that was hiding the main entrance to the building. Heading around it and opening the large oak door, the receptionist greeted the two men.

"Mister.. Phelps, and Mister Eusebio?" She asked, looking at both men. With two brief nods, she penned in an entry date on her sign in sheet and signaled the two men up the wooden stairs where she lead them on. Passing various reinforced metal doors through the several floors, they arrived to the top where an elegant wooden floor reflected the sunlight coming from the four windows that were on each side of the small waiting room. With a few brief moments of standing idle, a well dressed man sporting a brown suit exited the door in front of them.

"Ah, Gentlemen. Please, enter." The man said. Millard Rogers was a lawyer in charge of the estates of the recently departed Ronald Hemingway, an owner of numerous health service faculties around the Pacific Southwest. With the recent passing of Hemingway, a large gap had to be filled. Thanks to their previous arrangement, Hemingway and Vicodin brokered a deal that would make The Pharmacy the sole owner of the out of city mental facility they were visiting.

"As I'm sure you are aware, Mr. Hemingway has passed. As to your previous agreement, the price to acquire this asset was set at $927,500.00. The money will be allocated to his next of kin, who has no interest in keeping this property in due part to the excessive maintenance costs it runs." the lawyer said, materializing from under the desk he was sitting in front of a fat wad of paper. Calling for assistance, a small figured woman entered the office.

"Now for the property transfer, sign here, here, and here. "

Glancing at Voltaren, Vicodin pulls from his coat pocket a fountain pen and hands it to him. Much to his confusion, Voltaren stares at Vicodin.

"What is this?" He exclaimed.

"Ah, Voltaren. Since the last war that took a heavy toll on Los Angeles, it's been quite an empty city with just Shoreside hills here. You've been a great addition to The Pharmacy, and I have no doubt in my mind you'll be a shining example of what Los Angeles really is."

Glancing to the outside window and noticing a wandering patient assaulting another, Vicodin grins and turns back to Voltaren.

"It's perfect. Now, sign the damn paper!"

With Voltaren eying the legal document, he hesitantly signed his name three times before giving a sigh of relief.

After giving his thanks and finishing the session with the lawyer harboring the arrangement, Vicodin drove Voltaren back to their Shoreside estate. To his surprise, there was a growing group of people gathering around the lofty retirement home. Parking next to the sideway, Vicodin turned to Voltaren.

"So, ready to tackle this thing?"

With a brief nod and a look to the crowd, Voltaren and Vicodin exited the vehicle and made their way near the entrance. With Vicodin gazing at the building behind him, he sets his attention on the crowd and begins to speak while Voltaren positions himself behind Vicodin.

Well, it's been quite the ride so far for the past few weeks for us in Los Angeles. After the passing of my two former captains, I've been here on my lonesome in the city of Los Angeles. Today, I rejoice to announce a man I have found capable of running Los Angeles alongside me as a friend, and as a captain. I present to you Voltaren and our latest addition for Los Angeles, The Pharmacy: Dashenham Mental Facility.

I'm confidant this young man will be able to continue on with the policies I've set, as well as bringing his own personal touch to Los Angeles on a more grand scale.

Aria rushes through the crowd, smiling brightly at Voltaren. She reaches him, slightly out of breath, and rests her hand on his shoulder.

Congrats, Voltaren!

You have definitely earned this position, and I'm glad to see that your crew will be working along side Vicodin's. Good luck with your endeavors!

She smiles again, giving Voltaren a quick arm squeeze before she turns back into the crowd

Jackie raises his glass full of scotch and ice into the air after Vicodin finishes speaking.

Been a pleasure working with you, my friend. I can't think of a more deserving person to take such a high position in this city. Much respect to you and yours.

Jackie then tips his glass up to his mouth and takes a huge gulp of his drink while.

Enjoying some time away from the home she sighs heavily as she turns the corner heading back to the scents of menthol and notices a crowd around the door. Members of the staff are patting Voltaren on the back. Scratching her head she tries to remember what he could have possibly done to deserve congratulations then remembers the previous night when she and Vicodin sat up until 3 am drinking whiskey shot for shot.

Oh goodness, this came about quickly!

She rushes toward the door and trips, reaching out she grabs Voltaren by the arm and knocks him off balance. A grin across her face as she helps him back to his feet.

Congratulations kiddo, it does me proud to see you as our first Captain in Los Angeles since the war. I know you will do just fine... And finally I will be able to keep those lovely double shot floats that Greta makes all to myself.
