Remember the good times Started by: Father_TeQ on Feb 28, '15 08:45

Too many times my blood have seen people, friendships and relationships fall by the wayside over comments made at the height of some sort of emotional turmoil.

It seems a lot of speeches and replies lately have taken on a more vindictive or callous tone of voice. Folk are making comments when their head is filled with emotions ranging from anger, to sadness, to the joy of discovering something new and fresh, not taking the time to take a step back, suck in a deep breath and count to 10 before opening their pie-holes. Pretending not to care now, but knowing down the line that they will be full of regret and remorse because this is not an accurate depiction of themselves.

The problem with our world is that when these people do this, the rest of us tend to just take that all at face value and start to believe that is ALL someone is. Sometimes, you guys also need to take a step back, suck in that deep breath too and remember that what you're seeing in front of your eyes now, is not always all that person is. There has been more to them in the past and there will be more to them in the future, they are just struggling to find their good side when everyone around them is dropping like flies.

So, I ask every last one of you when you see a bloodline doing this...

...just remember the good times. :)

Maybe the good times remind us of what we lost and that's what makes us vindictive towards others?

Deception notices a conversation taking place on the streets and decides to briefly chime in.

"Father_Teq raises some valid points in his speech. Every single one of us can relate to someone getting angry over a death of a friend or family member. When angry, sometimes people say things that they may not necessarily mean. Therefore as has been suggested, both scenarios should involve taking a deep breath before reacting. This can prevent an unfortunate chain reaction that could result in multiple people dead, as we've seen. The only thing I would say different than Teq is if a person repeatedly reacts the same way about everything then chances are they won't be changing any time soon. The object is to differentiate the two."

Having said his peace, Deception pulls a cigarette from his pack and lights it as he turns to walk away.

Of course it has never happened to me.  Although If it ever had I would blame it on alcohol, possibly Tequila.  The shots not the author.

Jimmy sees a familiar face and walks over to where Father_Teq is having a conversation.

I understand the point you are making when you say some people act abnormally in the height of confusion and intense grief. I agree that for so many of our brothers and sisters here that acting out is not how they normally behave. That being said there are many of those who walk these streets daily that are just schmucks and it really becomes apparent and clear when someone close to them dies or their is a crisis in their family.

Jimmy lights a cig and walks away.

Leaning against a phonebox, Rory observed and listened to the speeches being given in front of him. There seemed to be general consensus amongst those gathered and Rory decided to share his thoughts.

It is of course true that many people destroy friendships and indeed commit murder due to over powering emotions. Emotions, in my opinion however, are vital to our way of life. People require emotions and passion, many of the problems we are currently witnessing in this thing of ours are simply because many lack passion and emotion and care for nothing except themselves.

In recent days, we saw cities decimated through their lack of adherence to a passionate mans rules and principles. That was the single, most dedicated, passionate and impressive thing I think i have ever witnessed on these shores. I am not, for one second, suggesting that we all take up arms every time somebody upsets us. Rather that, emotions and passion is important to our way of life, we must not avoid it, or hide away. We must embrace but control it.

I love to think back to the good ol' days, but those are gone and one can not hang on to them desperately just to feel better.
Believe, I've been there.
All it has brought me is grieve, grieve of the days when our world was growing - blooming even, there were much and many families (friends and foes).

My bloodline has been to the rank of Don (only once, but still) and mostely to Consigliere.
Being killed in wars between rivaling families the bloodline has time after time been brought back to the moment where they had to start from scratch.

Yes, I like to remember the good old days too.
But what I love more is to think about the present and evenmore the future.

Let's make new memories.
