War [Tribute] | Started by: Schizophrenic on May 26, '09 04:33 |
The first shot sounded, ringing throughout the world. The superiors are alerted, they begin to shout the word. Facts are figured out, someone had crossed the line. The time of war is here, many would soon be dying. The Don barks out orders, the squads disappear into the night. Into the planes, just like bullets, we all take flight. Into enemy lines, we go, as fearless as can be. Some not ready for what their eyes will soon see. Sounds of gunshots, like an orchestra, from all around. Bullets rip through a friend and they fall to the ground. Filled with hatred, mind set on vengeance, you take aim. You look, searching down the street, every enemy is the same. Squeezing the trigger with everything you have within. They're not going home after what they did to your friend. They fall, like your comrades, all sprawled around you. Man, raises a firearm, fires, misses. Almost too good to be true. You're pulled aside, hiding behind a building, you are safe. For the time being, you reload, counting each second you take. The news hits the front, the worst has just happened. The enemy's cannon took aim and took out the Captain. On the home-front, the scene is almost the same. Just like us, the enemy took flight and came. On our home turf, bullets tear through our home. More bullets, tearing flesh, and shattering bone. Reinforcements called in, Big Brother on his way. Fresh faces in the streets, here to save the day. They clear out the home-front, enemies left dead. Figuring no-one is left behind, bullet to the head. Home is cleared, to the enemy lines, they fly. More gunfire, rescuing those who have yet to die. Squeezing off one last shot, you head back to base. Perforated bodies, missing limbs, some without a face. The help quickly does away with their last few survivors. Their whole world comes crashing down to the bloody floor. What they had once worked so hard to build is no more. All because of someone ran off at the mouth. That was what the war was all about. Lives lost, friends and strangers alike. All more than willing to die in the fight. You, like a few others, survive the ordeal. A mobster's greatest fear had become real. Gunshots and screams, replaying inside of your memory. A life, clouded with dread, from surviving a tragedy. Never to see those lost, they are no more. These, my friends, is what we call war. Written with Love. A Tribute to all those lost due to war. -Schizophrenic |

Miles sits there pondering this wonderful writing. Excellent work Schizophrenic! This is beautiful writing and you know what every single line portrays the absolute truth of what war really is about and how sometimes war is caused by such foolishness. Great work my friend keep it up! Miles goes on to admire the poem some more. |

Many thanks. Many poets, such as me, can relate to this excerpt. Taken from one of my favorite rap songs. "I spend a lot of time away from family and friends. The first song I wrote was a song called Revenge. Ever since then, my weapon was a pen. But I still kept a strap for those devilish men." |
