Throughout my life, so many sights I've seen. Those who've been around know what I mean. I've seen my friends take a fall. I've seen boys grow up to be tall. Driving through my lovely city, sights all around. An Ambulance, beside a body, covered on the ground. These are things we've grown accustomed to. These horrors I see now, cannot be true. My city, land of drugs, murders, and much worse. My city, the land where I snatched my first purse. I seen boys at work, selling dope on the corner. I've seen the same boy end up at the coroner. His mother, crying at his funeral service. His friends, under their breaths, mutter curses. Seen so many doing things they know aren't right. Seen fathers and sons, knuckle-deep in a fist fight. All these things, within this place I call my sanctuary. Where saying the wrong thing puts you in the mortuary. Struggling parents, hard at work, laboring for pay. Working their fingers to the bone, day by day. Seeing their kids grow up, becoming women and men Same kids who asked to mow your lawn when they were ten. I sit here now, on my porch, staring at the skies. So many things I've seen with My Eyes. Purpose: To give you an opportunity to reflect upon your life. Written With Love. -Schizophrenic Ps.
