While in theory this seems fine, in practice it is too open to abuse. When a tribute is made, the money goes to the crewleader. If we were rewarded for tributes with ranking points, all a crewleader need do is return the money and allow you to donate it again and again, thus boosting your rank. Some elements of the game require coding, some require roleplaying. Tributes, imho, fall under the roleplay part of the game. If you do not tribute to your crewleader, you will struggle to ever gain their trust, prove your worth to them and will probably not achieve the rank of made man as a result. In fact, if it's a prolonged lack of tribute, you might even find yourself at the wrong end of the family hit squad. |

After you pass the lower ranks, the crewleaders themselves are the ones who promote you once you meet all the games criteria and their own. Many of them use RP criteria for you to be qualified for the promo - like tributes. This is one of the things that we feel should be in the power of the CLs hands, rather than that of the game. |
