| Often we post in the street or ooc or any other thread we often make errors in spelling or grammar. How about a way to edit these kind of like they have on Facebook. | |

Editing will basically rewriting history. Threads need to unfold in real time with no takesies-backsies. There really isn't a non abusable way other than checking your work before you commit. We could do a move post option like we have with threads maybe? |

| I'm not sure what you mean by move thread. I understand what you mean by real time/ role play with a post though. | |

I think he means with threads you can post them in a Back Alley thread first so you can check it's all good before moving it into the roleplay forum. Squishy you can also post the reply in it's own BA thread. You then check it looks schmick, then use the same formatting etc. to post a reply through copy/paste. I use the 'Source' function for this. |

You could implement a system that allows a poster 5 minutes from the post being made to edit. I often in-character forgetting to include italics. I always proof-read but italics, I just seem to forget and don't notice until the post is obviously posted as I can then see it up in display.
Furthermore to this, I think a "Preview" button should be implemented. This would further aid in avoiding mistakes and errors. |

Preview is pretty cool, yet with the 'Enable WYSIWYG Editor' checked, what you see typed up, is what you will get in the post itself. So, its basically already a preview. I do like a timeframe for initial editing though, as some @ tags also get messed up with coding. I've found how to rectify this myself so all tags are schmick, but I can understand the need for immediate editing for others. |

With the ability to post a thread in the backalley and move it to the streets I find the need for an edit button completely unnecessary. If you want to make sure it is perfect post it in a backalley have your friends read over it, then move it to the desired thread. I am completely against any type of editing once a public post in made. |

I agree Dr, the only thing you wont see is if the @tags work or not. Besides that, a BA post is the best way to go, plus proof reading it a few times. |

the only way i could see this working is if a small window was given 5 minutes, and a person hasn't already posted in your thread to be allowed to edit it. It could also be set up were all previous versions are stored with the post (you still have a small window to work from like 5-10-15 min) and anyone could retrieve/view your previous versions of it. I would also recommend limiting it to two edits then it's incapable of being edited further without admin intervention, to stop people from just slamming up to 100+ versions of one post). the first one leaves the problem of rewriting history, while the second one leaves the problem of causing another chunk of data for the server to store and take up resources. |

Well, I think...this should be implemented. I often miss spelling errors and what not and I often go, Oh wow, I need to change that!, but I can't because there is no editing feature. I mean, I don't think it would hurt anything. It would just be to fix grammar and whatnot. Not necessarily edit what has taken place. |

I'm sure some people would only use it for editing small things like that Aislin, but there are other around who would seize the opportunity to change entire sections of writing. The ability to manipulate your words once spoken is not something that should be allowed in the game. If you feel the need to correct a slip of the tongue you are always able to correct yourself in another post or print a retraction if you are proven wrong. |

All I want is a table function in WYSIWYG! And if there is already one then problems solved (someone direct me to it). |
