Game Change: Drug Front Properties | Started by: Squishy on Jun 02, '09 22:19 |
Drug Front Properties You invest in a facility that produces and distributes drugs in your own home city. The higher ranked you are when you set up the DFP - the better drugs that can be produced and at higher quantities. You can upgrade your DFP to produce better drugs and larger quantities as you rank up. Your DFP can produce drugs every 24 hours provided that the previous drugs are gone to make room for new drugs. Once drugs are produced, they are on the market at the price that you set and available to be purchased by the public. DFPs are very illegal, so it requires a bribe to the local FBN to keep off their radar. You must bribe them a minimum of once every 48 hours. If you do not line their pockets, you will get raided and lose your DFP. You can bribe from anywhere. To keep your hands clean, you only back the DFP financially, you can not pick up product at your facility to keep that distinct seperation. DFPs are first come - first serve. There is a limited available amount in your home city, once these are spoken for, no more are available until someone dies, gets closed down for lack of bribe, or the home population of that city increases. We will be releaseing them slowly for purchase over the next few days in the game. This is being done so that they are all not purchased at one time by the first users to read this. Financially this is a long term investment. You should break even at about the 7 day mark. |

I like this, really puts the idea of organized crime up front.

This is gonna be hard for lower ranked mobsters that are short on moolah. But all in all, it's good for the community and the families to earn more. |

I like the idea of keeping them home city based. Less possibility of seeing a virtual country-wide monopoly happen. First come first serve is fair enough, and gives everyone equal opportunity to purchase. Excellent platform, now we just have to see how it affects things once incorporated. Personally, I can't wait.

I hope this feature will only be available for Made Men and up? Wise Guys can't run a drug operation!! |

Sounds like a fantastic idea. All i wondered, was when buying drugs from a city with more than one DFP, how are the drug prices worked out? Does it take an average of all DFP's, or does it have a lot of choices to search through? V. |

In relation to the 'home population of the city', is this a major factor in the number of DFP's available? In a scenario where there is a large drop in a city population (e.g. a crew being taken down), where not many of the people killed owned DFP's, had an impact on those who already ownder DFPs? If not... is there a chance of manipulating the 'home population' of a city (a temp crew transfer) in order to allow a significant number of additional DFP's to be bought? Just a concern I said I'd raise, hopefully it won't be an issue with the planned system. |

I think the following things need to be taken into consideration which is within the same category: - What happens if a leader decides to move to a different city, but members/leader have bought DFP's in their old city? - Leader dies but people who do own DFP's survive and join another family, but are no longer in the same city as the city they own DFP's in. - Someone gets auth and is placed in a different city than the one he/she owns a DFP in. It becomes an issue especially if whoever owns a DFP will now be allowed to buy them in a different city, a city which could be empty, which means an entire family (if they bought enough DFP's in the old city) will be able to buy more when moving to a different city. And also, if they were to lose their current DFP's due to moving city... that wouldn't be right to anyone as they'll be losing a lot of money (I assume it's not going to be cheap to buy the DFP's...). Maybe the restriction to "Home City" isn't the best alternative, but at the same time.. having no restriction will lead to the richest owning most of the DFP's in the country and controlling the drug market, which isn't good either. I'm not sure how this is taking "cash out" of the game though, something which supposedly was behind the prices for bodyguards going up. This feature only makes the rich even richer (and their families along with it), seeing as two cities would be able to make their own drug route, one cheap city and one expensive. With the amount of high rankers and money out there right now, it'll become a lucrative business quite fast. Correct me if I'm wrong, though, seeing as I don't really know how exactly the DFP's will work when it comes to selling/buying. The best option in my opinion, would be to allow the "bold" players to buy these DFP's, within their respective cities, the more they own the more money they'd make. Or you could make it rank based, say at Made+ you could own one, or something like that anyway. Also, will there be a minimum/maximum price that the owner can set? There's probably more questions I haven't thought of, I'll drop by again if I come up with anything. |

This feature is available for all ranks, your rank at the time of purchase however limits the drugs/units you can do. |

the city drugs are still there (the page you have been going to for years) this is in a seperate area which lists whoever has their prices set the lowest for that particular drug example: Coke 18 8500 by the Marietta Family Heroin 45 8300 by the Cruel Family Barbs 12 4850 by the Death-Knight Family and so on... That coke line represents the cheapest coke available from DFPs.... when someone buys all 18 units, it gets removed and is replaced by something like Coke 21 8700 by the Cruel Family It will only show 1 line per drug, and that 1 line contains whoever set their price the cheapest. |

Yes, the number of total DFPs that can be purchased in a city is based on a % of the active alive home based residents of that city.
If a city has a high population that allows say 75 DFPs... then that city gets taken down and the number of DFPs drops to 30 (but all 75 have already been purchased and are running) then the 75 stay running... and no one can purchase new ones until the population rises again, or the 75s slowly decrease due to not paying bribes, or dying.
Yes, this could, however, the cities are quite large now, so you would need quite a big transfer to make a real effect, I think the effort outweighs the reward in most cases, so I do not think we will have to worry about this. |
