| UE's and Job boards | Started by: LordBlackwod on Mar 19, '15 04:25 |

I like the jobs board feature a lot, but I can't stop thinking about these UE accounts that do the most amount of Jobs they can and they are then gone. I wanna say most of these accounts get DD'd or eventually turn IA and die. But along with them they all take several thousands of dollars that I can easily give to a new members as startup cash. I mean I know I am arguing over 20k tops here, but if you add that up over 10 of these UE accounts, your talking 200k. I can think of multiple things some legit members that can use that 200k for. So my suggestion is. If someone doesn't have a verified account...they should not have the capacity to be able to do jobs on the crew boards. |

Every account, even the ones that kick up 100s of millions in donations to their CLs over the years, are UE at one time. I don't think someones ability to play a brand new game should be limited by the speed of their email provider. If it takes 6 minutes to get the mail, and they can't do anything during that time, there is a fair chance that they will never be converted over to a player, this severely kills the ROI on advertising and severely limiting the amount of income you guys get from your future members. I think this is one of those "penny wise, dollar foolish" ideas that sounds good on the surface, hey, saved yourself 20k, but lost out on a member who would have donated 20-30-40-100 mill. But in reality, I believe it will significantly impact the CLs in the negative far more than it it will help. I am down for alternative ideas though... |

OPTION 1: Set up a system where UEs earnings are logs and they are returned to the crew that gave them it when/if they get DDd. OPTION 2: Lower the amount of money these UEs can earn on job. What do you really need money for when you first start? They don't know how much $10 or $100 is worth on this game. They don't need that cash 'til they get in a crew. Once they're in a crew, then the Sponsors/Upper Structure can help them out. So just lower the earnings from the job board by 50%. OPTION 3: Don't change it at all. If we look at it from an RP sense, you speculate to accumulate. As Squishy said, the $20k you spend is far outweighed when a member kicks up over $100m in their time working beneath you.
When I first started, I didn't even realise the first jobs I was doing were for a family. I just thought that's how the job system worked, so I did all of the options available to me (at the time, it was 4). Which meant I robbed 3 crews of the money they had for potential associates. Oops! |

Ok, made a few changes. Potato stays up top on your screen from the get go reminding you to confirm your email until its done (it would do that previously, but only after a few hours). If your email bounces, you can not do jobs until you correct your email situation. This should cut down a few UEs that do jobs without affecting those that are simply waiting for their email. |
