I do believe there is a need for another family. I also agree that no one has shown themselves to be the one for the job. Auth is not something to take frivolously, there is no greater hono(u)r no greater respect. It is the elite, the top mafia bosses of this world welcoming you to join their table permanently. To have your name written into the history of our world. If you want a new family to be created the bosses have to find someone worthy of the role. Not just so the homeless have a home. The creator of my bloodline died because of there not being any families open to live in, and while it is sad in recent generations we have come to understand that the empty places was unavoidable at the time. I believe if there is one out there worthy of this honor, they will make themselves apparent to the bosses. If there isn't, then it will be a waiting game until the families open their doors again. |

Some very good points there that i have to agree with in all honesty Scandia. My only woe, as you may, with your last point about proving yourself, is that we don't suddenly have an influx in mindless dribble by people attempting to prove themselves and that they speak, because they want to, not because they have to. And that they may continue to speak once they get the auth and not stop. |

More intriguing to me is the fact that for large parts of each day there are times when there are NO Crewleaders or RHs around... Fair enough, I can accept that they have other high ranking Family members awake, but surely this just proves either complacency on behalf of the crewleaders who think that because their headquarters are full they can go sleep with their seconds, or that those who have "almost full" headquarters but are choosing not to invite, are indeed sticking their noses in the air at the new gangsters on these shores. You think I'm over-exaggerating this? I've recently been in this position myself, so I know the situation. It's not a new one however. I'm well aware that for generations now, naive crewleaders have appointed their RH purely on the basis that they are childhoods friends. This is NOT good business sense. Why not cover your bases and have somebody around when you are not? |

I have 2 RHM. 1 sleeps in the day to work at night while the other works in the day to sleep at night. I am a late riser and will not usually be seen before Lunch time. thats the way I am, apart from weekends.. It is not a case of me appointing a RH from child hood friendship. I had never heard of ProphetOfDoom before he earned his right to help me run my family. BumbleBee also proved his worth to me but I had known him prior to joining my family. On no level am I turning my nose up at the current Gangster. Wait, I will change that. I am currently not turning my nose up at any gangster who makes an effort to contact me. I refuse point blank to mail Gangsters to get them in my family. As for the other leaders. You will have to take it up with them. |

Whilst i agree we must pick a good auth, i do feel that maybe it's time to see some new faces. Sure enough they may fail, but how many good crewleaders do we have first time round to be honest? I would love to see new people rather than the same bloodlines everytime, there the ones who ain't never gonna change and just bring the samr things to the table. I'm not sure whether i want someone who is going to be "suitable" because we have seen it before, or someone who is going to be "amazing" given half a chance. Hmm, I'm just gonna sit on the fence, it's much easier. ginsters sits on the metaphoric fence he has created. |

I'm a self-proclaimed nae, incompetent man, but I seem to be doing well otherwise. Shrugs Moving on... I will be the first to admit that I picked my Right and Left Hand men based off of past family ties. However, it was done because I can trust these men with my life and the lives of my crew. Secondly, I know they bust their asses when it comes down to all the nitty, gritty hard work. My ancestors have worked with their ancestors since my family line joined this world- and I know that they will put the same amount of effort forward into my family that their Fathers have continuously put into this world. Yet, straying back onto topic, I am not just going to choose any random person of a decent enough rank to set up in either Las Vegas or New Orleans, kick back and relax. Yes, I am being very very careful with whom I choose next to don a bold suit. Yes, I realize that every day numbers of new civilians flock to these shores looking for a family and in turn are dying due to over-crowded conditions. While it pains me to see new-comers die and know that many will not return, I want to be damn sure that the person picked next is going to be perfect. To you it may seem like indecisiveness, but you must understand where I am coming from. As for my reasoning, it is this: since my career as a Mob Boss has started, I have had the honor of authorizing five new families. Five. Each of these families? Dead within a week- days even. Wars, rogues and other worldly disasters have torn each of these crews apart to the point where they no longer exist, and are no longer even spoken about- the exception being Proteus, his crew only falling just days ago. Five people that I respected and felt had the potential to truly impact this world- all gone. So yes, I personally will be taking the time to weigh over all my potential candidates before putting them forth to be the newest victim to this 'curse' that seems to hang over all Badass Inc. auths. For the collective group of current Crew Leaders, however, I can say that we all will agree we want someone that is willing to work with us towards building a better world. Someone who is not nae and incompetent, and with whom we can all generally get along with to some degree- or at least tolerate. Believe it or not we have been in discussions about this matter- and I am sure there will be many more of these in the near future. All of us Family Heads have other engagements as well, and this creates a bit of a conflict for these meetings so patience is key. We realize time is of the essence; just know that we are working hard towards fixing this situation as soon as possible. As for the open city idea- how can we be sure that the current families will be safe from such a blood-bath that it is bound to become? No... just, no. |

I must say about week ago, I spoke here on the streets stating that I think it would be better to bigger the HQs that are already in place, I found there is no rush to expand to each of the six cities.. But meanwhile after talking to a few people I understand that leading a family of up to 75 people is already a very big task, not to speak of HQs with like 100 mafiosi who need guidance.. So meanwhile I agree that the mafia should expand to the other cities aswell.. Especially now since more and more boats arrive from the old country and more and more young gangsters need a place to work. Choosing the right person is a very hard task indeed, one never knows what power does to a person who was trusted to set up, but I am sure our current leaders will do a good job on that, I am patient, sure that it might take some more time but things will certainly be taken care of. Scandia, sorry to say that, but I wonder how you say you dont want to instate a 48 hour rule, if I am not totally mistaken, this rule is currently in place, at least I havent heard a speech calling it off ? |

*Belushi quickly returns to add a thing..* I just noticed that this 48 hour rule is only set for our family, I do noticfe the reason you dont want to have it Scandia, but in my opinion a 24 hour old gangster can also have a gun and shoot an earner.. so for me not really the point of not allowing them more time to find a home.. |

Thats right. A 24 hour old Gangster can have a gun. So anyone who is not trusted by a family head is killed as a safety measure. |

We all realize that there will be a time coming soon when we are right back where we started if we don't reach some sort of accord. Believe me, we are all of a single state of mind on this issue. Our primary concern is finding the right person for the job. As has been stated by my colleagues this is someone whom we will work with on a daily basis. Having multiple personalities at work makes any given task hard. Thankfully we all have the cities best interests at heart and will do what we believe to be best for them. This is not an issue of simply pulling a name out of a hat. We have had discussions and made progress. Informed choices and strong opinions are the order of the day. We share a common goal, we will prevail. Rushing to judgment and just throwing a name out there is little more than a stop-gap method doomed to failure. A temporary expedient at best. We will make the right choice. We will do what is best for the cities. Because we care. |
