Not sure if the game does this already, but I was wondering if something could be coded into the Manage Members forum, where by CLs could poke 'New' players after a week or 10 days inactivity. You know the guys we're talking about. Squishy advertises, we get an influx of new blood, some take up the mantle and run with it, whilst others stall and forget to come back. Some of these I'm sure its because they get distracted by other things, they forgot they signed up and played GTA instead. So after 7 or 10 days inactivity, CLs get a 1 time only Icon appear beside their name. This sends an admin scripted email to the users registered email address. Something along the lines of 'Your Crew misses you and wants you back, why not log in to MR and say hi!'

This I hope will have a couple off effects. It may make new players feel important, valued, or wanted and persuade them to return. It may also jog the memories of the forgetful and bring them back. It may also increase player retention following advertising drives. The reason the 'new' is like that is so that the game doesn't automatically rumble incog players. Either, the game shows the icon for all Thug/Gangster/Goomba ranked players after 7/10 days inactivity and a background process decides whether to send the email or not based on how long the email is registered in the system, or it just sends to everyone regardless as to whether they are a new player or an incog player.

Just out of curiosity, why not open it up a bit more where the upper structure can send a message through the games email to any member with no time restriction? (They never see the users email, so privacy isn't an issue)

This way it can be used a few more ways "Yo dude, we are under attack, get online" type thing as well as the "Haven't seen you in a week" type things.

Only thing I was worried about was Spam or hate mail. A member fuck's you over, and right before you Kill him you send him a quick email.

You C@Ckface, thank's a lot you f&$king C^nt. I hope all your babies are born blind and bump into each other. May your pubes turn to drumsticks and beat the balls off you. You thrice cursed offspring of a diseased camel.

That sort of thing. Plenty of other ways for folks to 'keep in touch' outside of game, including whatsapp etc. But hey, this is up to you.

We could put in a report button, and considering its just upper structure that could do this, they know the stakes if they cross the line.  I don't know if it would ever really get abused outside of the one odd hot headed CL that will get DD'd for it every once in a while.

As long as you are sure, i see no issue in it, mind you, I don't think of email as a quick way to contact someone in a war :p

Report Post Tip

Its not quick by any means, but its a last ditch effort for those who you dont a better means to contact them with.  Not ideal, no, but, better than nothing. :)

very true

I like the inactives poking, and the email during war time would be handy. +1

I too fully support the idea to email members as long as their email is hidden and uppers only have access. Great idea.

Ok, looks like this is a go.
