Incognito In this world of ours, only by blood shall you be able to enter a family. In this world of ours, only by blood shall you leave. And only by war, dishonor and stupidity shall your blood be drawn. Incognito comes into play. When your father, your mother, your whatever, your predecessor dies, it is only by those three ways that they might have died. But hey, they could've died through other ways like over-agitated sexual intercourse. But that is out of the question now. After they die, you surely, will want to see a successor. Your enemy though, will not. When they are born, to avoid bloodline termination, they go underground. Discuss with me. Is it a better way of self preservation? Or is courage in the face of inevitable death the way to go? |

Incog is not for me. Generally, as long as you don't have a bloodline full of complete fuckwits, people will give you a chance no matter what's gone on before. Most people are smart enough to realise that just because two bloodlines warred, doesn't necessarily mean that filters through the DNA. My father's enemy is not always mine. As soon as you try to go incog, you are heading down the wrong road. When people find out who you are, and they generally do, they are suspicious about your motives for going incog in the first place. Of course, for some people, the only option is to go incog. Most of the time though, that is because their fathers and grandfathers have been arseholes to the point of staining their DNA brown. Even less frequently than that, you will get someone who is forced incog by unnecessary bloodline hunting, though thankfully I don't think it's an issue for the most part. The need to go incog often comes around due to blurry borders between RL Avenue and the world we inhabit. Act the right way in cosa nostra and you won't cause any problems for your children. |

But for warring cities such as that we have just witnessed, we saw those that have fallen on the losing side have sent in their off spring to the same fate as they have, even knowing that death waiting. Is that just lack of self preservation? Or just courage and love for what they believe in? I believe incog comes in here very well for those who value a new life, under a new name. |

I'm not even sure I understood you there, but offspring joining the side their forefathers fought on, whilst a war is still in progress, is another thing entirely.
Just because people have a new life, a new name, whatever...doesn't mean they are "incog", nor is it likely they would need to be incog, regardless of whether their forefather's enemies are still around. |

| Well, in this war we just witnessed, "their" fathers' enemies would surely still be around, because most of those would be sending their children into this world are those from the losing side. And it would be incog, because I'm sure that children of those who died in the war are not done with their enemies. They'd be back, only to show up when the time is right. | |

During these trying times people have gone incog for two reasons. One to try a new approch, a new family to connect with people they have not met. i.e. the grass is always greener on the other side. Others because they have a plan to reach the top then seek revenge if they can. Either way they have a valid reason of their own according to their own accounts. The new name is not what makes them Incog the fact they do not communicate with old friends does. I'm sure with all the past wars we have served with tsome of the same members that we once like or dislike and never even new it. Me I perfer not to be incog. I like working with those I once served with or for. Vengence is never an issue business is business. |

Very few people can go genuinely incognito. The more famous you are, the more difficult it is. Therefore, due to the difficulties posed, it would make far more sense to just continue as a known, if different thinking descendant. Most victims in war rarely have anything to fear from the victors. As someone said above, provided you don't seek to prolong or become embroiled in the conflict, then the actions of your predecessors will often just be put down to following orders. Indeed, much respect can often be garnered from the victorious families, by a parent doing their duty to their family, even if they were a part of the opposition. The most common problem people seem to have, is that they believe, falsely, they are innocent. It is very rare anyone is totally innocent. Not many sons and daughters shed the views and affiliations of their parents, particularly in the coffeeshops. Often, they'll be plotting with the same people, consorting with the same troublemakers and generally doing just enough not to be killed for disloyalty up until the very last moment. So whilst they give a general impression they harbour none of their lineage's resentment, scratch beneath the surface and it too quickly becomes apparent that this isn't the case. Incognito is very rarely necessary. Unless you're being persecuted for your coffeeshop counterpart regardless of your actions within the Cities, then you don't really have much choice. Other than that, provided you are actually loyal to your new family, you are unlikely to encounter much resistance for long. Most of the established bloodlines here will have worked with and against others several times. This world is cyclical, provided you aren't constantly being a square; you'll have no need to go incog. ~T~ |

| Good points. I am loving where this is going. The sole purpose of me taking this up is not for actual argument, but for knowledgable opinion coming from those who care. | |

I agree with Mr. Tallien regarding the difficulty of truly being incog. The vast majority of people cannot break the habits that are seemingly inherent in their blood. If they're a known commodity in the streets at all, they'll almost certainly be recognized by someone for their writing style. For the less disciplined bloodlines out there, it's also very tempting to "randomly" try to contact the friends that your father or mother had, as you miss their involvement in your life. It's stupid, but it's human. A difficult task, though certainly not impossible. |

well when i first set out making my name around here(not that it is that big a name) I left TWO of these Tracks of which you speak. Now I leave only one, thus confusing those who have known me for ages. But now I use a name so blatantly exposing to myself that others think it is too good to be true and think I am an imposter. It's all about confusing yourself first. |

| Personally I am not one to go incognito. I have tried to do that once before, and, as I have many friends here in this world, that their ancestors were friends of my ancestors, and I enjoy talking to them too much to try to hide who I am from them, as that would be, to me, like lying to them, and the rest of the community. | |

If you were to confuse yourself, it's going to be impossible to keep your cool and go along the points presented by Kates, to be disciplined, to be discreet and to be totally someone else in the way you walk, the way you talk, under a different name, but still retaining your mindset and your own intentions. |

Confusing yourself is the only way to break free from the norm. Break habits, habits are what stop us from being incog. I can usually find someone if i really want to. Everyone has habits and mannerisms,it is the habits and mannerisms that THEY THEMSELVES are not aware of, that leads to thier identity. |

Well then, you have to be one good detective to be able to track someone down, checking latter documents of speeches and events, comparing them to newer ones, viewing profile after profile after profile. It's all about covering your tracks. Confusing yourself is way too much to be able to hide yourself. I still stick to my opinion of a disciplined stern change in mannerisms. |

I still say "be yourself" there is way to much effort put into being something that you are not. It would take half the effort to change your ways and start fresh than to hide behind false identities and avoid those who know you too well. |

Incog can be handy at times, but it's very rare to find someone who truly goes incog. The longer we spend here and in the coffeeshops the stronger we get attached to the whole community feel and while some may go incog in public there will always be those that are conacted when our sons or daughters arrive here. Also you'll notice that each person has their own style of speaking in the streets, or a little trait they'll have in the bars. lights up a smoke and takes a long draw You'll find that on most occasions that my fore fathers comes out here they generally smoke while talking. Tis a nasty habit but there are those who notice things like that. So yeah, there are advantages to it. But in the long run you find everything comes out in the wash. |

Ah that incident you speak of may have happened at one time and although it was captured on film the tape was erased shortly after. So what I will say is this, what you think you saw while on you medication may have very well been someone looking much like me being tackle by a small furry animal. However, my lawyer has advised me to say that while their is no evidence the event never took place. |
