Still battered and bruised from the previous few days, he slowly stands to address the few close friends wishing him well.
Thank you, thank you all so much.
Having gone through the heart ache and agony of so much loss and ruin over the last few days, I'm glad to see us here to chat about something that, in somes eyes at least, is a positive thing.
I can't thank Godfather Rourke enough for the opportunity he has given me. His care, protection, friendship and trust are the reasons that I am standing here before you as a Don of New York.
While I will admit that this is an achievment that I am terribly proud of, both in reaching the rank of Don and being given the opportunity by Godfather Rourke to lead a family in the urban jungle that is New York, I'll also be the first to state that my work has only just begun!
We have a huge task to rebuild our seven cities to what they once were. Having the chance to be a part of that rebuilding here in New York couldn't make me more thrilled and excited. Together with Godfather Rourke and the other leaders of our fine city, I'm fully confident that we can, once again, go on to great things. |
