The Life, and Times of Mr_Crowley Pt. 1 Sometime in the not so distant future - Las Vegas, NV.
Mr_Crowley stands looking out of the window of his penthouse apartment overlooking The Strip. Looking at the rumble and noise of The Strip below. Crowley smiles and looks towards the door when there was a solid knock on it. Crowley glances over towards the door and says in a loud raspy voice, “The Doors Open open Geno.”
The door opened up and in comes a tall well built man. The best way to describe him is that he's a gorilla. “You called for me Boss?” Geno asks as he slowly closes the door and makes his way over to Crowley.
“Yeah, Care for a drink Geno?”, Crowley says as he turns his head back towards the window overlooking the strip.
Geno walks over to the mini-bar and opens it up, and browses over the scarce selection. “Not much of a selection. Nothing but the cheap scotch here.” Geno said as he poured two tumbler glass full, and walks over towards Crowley.
“Yeah, I don’t keep any of the good stuff stocked here.” Crowley said as he takes the glass Geno had for him, and swirls it slowly. Crowley looks deep into the glass with thought and sighed, and added. “I just don’t trust the housekeeping staff from stealing it and having a good old time with it.”
Geno settled into one of the chairs off to the side of Crowley, and takes a sip of his own glass. “That’s a good point. “ Geno then gets ready to take another sip and stops. “So, why did you call me here? Figured you’d want to be alone for some time.”
Crowley sits there silently and then looks up and over at Geno. “Let’s just say I want somebody I trust close. I was called in for business by Don Zeitgeist, and it’ll be a little time before he calls. “ Crowley raises his glass up to his lips and stops. “So, I decided on a little down time. On top of it drinking is against one of his rules.” Crowley took a large gulp and grimaced at the cheap alcohol.
Geno leans forward in his chair with a bushy brow raised high. “Who’s rule would that be boss?”
Crowley set his glass down on the table next to his chair, and sat up straight and adjusted his tie a little. Crowley cleared his throat and with a much clearer voice answered. “Don Aleister Crowley. “
Geno nearly spit out his drink at the announcement of Crowley’s father. “Aleister? That was your old man? No shit, My Uncle Lou worked for him. Always told me Ole Al was a swell of a guy.”
Crowley jumped up from his seat with a look that could kill. His eyes burned straight through Geno, and said with a cold raspy tone in his voice. “That is Mister Crowley to you, and he was no saint, but a hateful bastard.”
Geno looks over at Crowley with a hint of fear, but managed to stammer out a few words. “I didn’t say he was a saint, but he wasn’t at all that bad. You act like you hated him down to his soul.”
Crowley had managed to calm down, but place his hand on his chest and leaned in. “On the contrary Geno. I loved my father like the man upstairs says I must. I really did love it, but I disliked him just as much for the way he conducted himself with me, and my mother.” Crowley reached down and grabbed his glass and downed the remainder.
Geno looked over at his boss with a puzzled look and then asks, “Why do you dislike him so much?”
Crowley had walked of and poured another drink before settling back down into his chair, and sips on the amber colored liquid. “He tried to teach me the ways of this thing of ours, but nothing ever sunk in. He would be mean and ruthless to get his point across. Nothing sank in until one day when I had a run in with Scottie “The Scraper” Sanders when I was just a young boy.”
