The building on the corner had been covered in plastic for days, and everyone had been speculating on exactly what was going on inside. The local civilians had witnessed what happened, even if no one really talked about it. They had seen the lowly gangster being dragged into the building, heard the eruption of gun-fire, and the sudden appearance of multiple cars skidding to a stop out front. Out stepped a dozen men, several with Tommy guns. They fired unmercifully at the building while two of the men lit torches and threw them in the front window. Most believed it was this that fell the great Don Mac; in reality, a poorly manufactured gun barrel gave the young gangster an opening to grab a nearby bodyguards gun and fell the powerful don. The men who followed in the cars had simply arrived coincidentally at the same time. The attack on the headquarters of Retribution and the death of their leader had scattered the family.

A few days after the attack, the plastic sheets went up. Everyone began to speculate as to what was happening. Did someone buy the place? What business would fill the space? Finally, a section of plastic was removed, revealing a create plaque embedded in the brick wall. Everyone slowly approached at first, eventually able to read the writing.

Striving to continue the great work of the fallen Mac.

Turning to leave, everyone saw a familiar face walking down the street toward them. It was Pedro Rourke the Younger, rumored descendant of Pedro Rourke the Elder. While he was born along-side 600,00 other people nine months to the day after an infamous picnic in St. Louis, it was also insisted that he was born of a different mother and father than any of the previous Rourke's. He was also rumored to be a more interesting man than Pedro the Elder, but that is a tale for another day. Approaching the crowd, he begin to speak.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I come to you today to reintroduce you to a familiar organization. We recently lost the great Don Mac, and to honor him we are reopening the doors of his office to continue what he has already built upon. I would like to thank our Godmother of Detroit, Marietta for giving me the opportunity to rebuild. We intend to make you proud of us.

"While I am here I would also like to thank Godfather Thomas Rourke of New York for your assistance after the attack that scattered Retribution. It was my honor to work with you, even if for a brief time.

"I would also like to thank those who bravely fought for Detroit, New York, and Las Vegas during the war. Your willingness to put yourself on the front lines of a major war took courage. I would also like to pay my respects to those who fell during this time. You paid the ultimate price to defend what we have. It is thanks to you that we still have our businesses and organizations to run.

"Now I must get back to work. We are open for business, yet we still have more to rebuild, and I must get back to it.

"And remember, stay thirsty, my friends."

With that Pedro pulled back the plastic and entered the building, fading into the sounds of hammers and saws.
