Good Afternoon Mafioso's on the streets of this wonderfull life of ours.
I come today just to go through a few things on my mind this evening.
*Pulls out a Cigarette and lights it and begins to speak*
We always have to go through certain problems in this world we live and we have to do what we have to do to earn our stripes to get where most of us are today.

*Takes a few drags of the cigarette*

Well what im trieng to get to is there is alot of new people that if they had the guidence they would be able to make it where we are today.
Without guidence They will not want to even bother to live in this life we live.
We need to extend a helping hand to the newer Mafioso's and mafiosa's that come to our streets as I myself was a nobody on this world and did not know right from wrong.We need more people to put that hand out because if noone offers the help how must we expect for our world to be any better?

*Takes off my hat and places it next to my feet.

I can recall when i first started i almost did not even want to because it is a difficult life to live in and to be apart of.With the few helping hands and open arms I myself did get I became the man that i am today with the possition i am today.
Anything is possible when it comes with new people as we never really know the potential unless we give them the shot to prove it to us.We all know respect is earned and not given so how do we expect others to earn the respect if we don't give them the chance to earn it?
*Clears throat*

This is why we have so many Mafioso's and Mafiosa's that just sit around not even walking the streets for weeks at a time.This is not a proper way to live our life this is just one way to benefit yourselves but in this world we have to benefit for each other along with ourselves.

if anyone is willing to ask for help my hand is always held out to anyone who asks for it :) I welcome those new to our way of life with open arms because I honestly wouldnt be where I have been without the willingness of others to help.

I'm willing to help out anyone if they need it as well. Just send me a message.

The topic you brought to our streets today has been a topic thats been wandering through my mind aswell.
I notice to often new people are left to completely figure it out themselves, now my great great great grandmother did figure out the basics by herself and surely one can argue that everyone should be able to figure it all out by themselves.
True, but, why would one bother to do so if there's no friendly approach from others.

More than I like I see for example young pettie thiefs arriving at the IRC venue asking a simple question and fellow mafiosi's find it required to first give a joke answer before they (maybe) answer the question.
I hear people mentioning about stupid users, it annoys me. Teach them, help them, welcome then.

Now on the bright side, especially in IRC avenue there's a whole bunch of people offering their services when ever needed and I am sure a lot of help is given on here aswell through the private discrete channels, we just don't see that.

I just hope that the joking and insulting of these so called "noobs" will decrease and that when they ask for guidance someone will give it to them.

But I can not state clearly enough that I've seen many people given guidance to once another might have considered "stupid and unworthy" and I applaud the people who are allready doing such a good job.

This is issue is what they call a "grey area".

Helping is not for just the beginners but also for a few returning people learning all the upgrades.

I for one was lucky enough to already have family members here when I started, so if anyone needs a helping hand, just mob mail me...and if I can't help, I'll find someone who will.  Lana

I agree with Scipita not everyone can figure out everything by their selves that's why there is a lot of people offering help, some of them has written help threads others just put it in their profile.

So for a noob if he wants to learn this thing of ours he can just scroll through people's profiles and check who is offering help and talk to him.

I personally am glad to help anyone who comes to me and I am online most of the day.

Personally getting used to our life is not that hard, info is all around you. If you were to get pinched would you keep to yourelf and work things out or would yo ask every bad ass in the joint for help.

But to a point you are right the new guys do need more help. Not about how to due things but ow to show respect.

Reading through journals of my great great grandfather's grandfather, it becomes clear to me that there was once what could be perceived as a more concerted family effort to help the fresh new faces learn and get on the fast track to success. This very topic came up in a recent conversation between myself and WillHayes, oddly enough. Both of us reading through past history discovered that our respective ancestors were required to attend an in-house "university" of sorts once they found employment in a family. They were required to attend daily classes, sit through lectures, and take exams. Over the course of a couple of weeks they were taught by some of the greatest minds to walk these streets. Instructors who realized the need for educating those new to our ways, and gave freely of their time and knowledge. Only upon completion and graduation were they free to speak in the streets and attain a more prominent position by ranking up.

Some have been involved with this way of life for generation after generation after generation and still recall how tough it is to make your way. They haven't become complacent or jaded, and they aspire to help others walk this path and avoid the same pitfalls they themselves had to navigate. In my eyes, they "get it". They're not out for themselves but instead see the larger picture where we have a vibrant community, each city filled with ladies and gentlemen who have been taught how to conduct themselves appropriately in all situations. They know the traditions that must be upheld. They know of loyalty and respect. They realize that it is better to die than to act dishonorably.

It may take a little more effort to build a strong foundation, but in the end we never look back and second guess ourselves. Pay it forward. Take that young man or lady aside and share yourself with them. We all have time. Make the best use of it.

When it comes to the new members of our society, I firmly believe in teaching them as much as I can...IF they want to learn that is.

My philosophy on New members stems from my belief that: I cannot bitch and complain about how they act and perform their duties, if I have taught them how I do it. It is kind of a self measuring attitude, you know..the old throwing rocks at someone who is holding a glass beer bottle! Or throwing a beer bottle at someone who is stoned? You get my point I hope, as I seemed to have lost my way in this statement.

If this was being discussed in OOC Ave. I might have a different approach, but being that we are in the middle of the streets I say that the life of a criminal is not for the people who get lost even with all the signs around. The information is there if you know how and where to look.

I don't think that anybody that needs to be guided too much has the back bone for thos way of life. One may have a lot of brass and may need refinement and coaching from somebody with a silver tongue but that is a different thing.

"Newbs" should prove to the leaders and veterans that they have what it takes to be a criminal.

(OOC: it's pretty easy to RP that you bump into some idiot (the newb) and you scold him by telling him how he should act. After you tell him, OOC, that it is an RP, he won't take offense and know to rescue the lesson hidden in the RP)
