A small crowd gathers around a young gangster steps at he sits on a banister.

Take a seat for a few tics. I've got a story to tell you all. It's called 'mio desiderio'. My father told me this tale, and his father told him this tale. Now I am here telling you this tell. It is the start of what we do and who we are.

It was back in the Old Country, it was many years ago. The year was 1280, like I said years ago. It was Easter evening the people were having a traditional festival, they were enjoying they're meal and drinking, having a good time.

At the time, the France had control over the island and several French soldiers decided to invite themselves to this social event, they were not welcomed by the community to attend; yet they attended anyway. At festival a beautiful newly wedded bride had caught the eye of a French captain.

The captain approached the girl, and attempted to drag off in hopes of having his way with her. She struggled, and eventually broke free of his bond, but she unfortunately smacked her head against a stone wall, she died. Her husband charged towards his dead wife, the aggressive husband in his anger stabbed the Officer to death. After reducing the Frenchmen to a motionless corpse, he yelled *Morte alla Francia* which means Death to the French in Italian.

The events following this revolt of the girl's death lead to every French soldier at the festival being slaughtered by the angry mob. The entire city was in uproar, they avenged the girl's death with the slaying of every French soldier in the city. Every French soldier that was killed they would chant *Death to France is Italy's cry*.

The following days the French in Sicily were hunted down and killed. An organization formed out of this riot, this angered mob. That organization has evolved over the years and it still has its basic concept which will always remain. We take care of our own; we protect our family and our community.

You have accepted the terms to be a part of this thing of ours. Unlike many other organizations, tradition shall not die out with us. We are businessmen, we our honorable men. Cosa Nostra shall prevail. We live by the knife and gun; we will die by the knife and gun.

A nice little tale. Though I was previously unaware of the origins of our life, I have my own reasons for being here, much like everyone else I guess.
