I know this has been mentioned previously, albeit in the midst of another discussion about something else, but I think this should be addressed again as this seems to be getting a little bit out of hand. I would kindly ask that we please exercise a little bit of common sense when using the blockquote option, particularly within the streets. I appreciate that it helps some people make a point, but is there really any need to quote every part of someone's post when making your own? Not only are we all capable of reading and using a mouse to find what you're referring to if needed, more importantly these threads are usually verbal discussions; have you ever had a conversation with someone where you repeated everything they said back to them? I doubt it. I can tolerate the use of blockquoting where 5-6 people are all posting really quickly and you want to draw a discussion back to something someone said earlier on or that they said on a previous page (although even this is easily avoidable as in real life conversations), but is there any need whatsoever to quote things from the poster directly before you? I mean, come on, I can usually still see their reply whilst I'm reading yours; it looks ridiculous. This is the type of thing I'm talking about for anyone who is unaware: https://mafiareturns.com/comm/thread/580306#80356814 I realise this might not seem like a problem to some or even most people, but I know I find it disengaging and imagine others do to. Can we all then try a little bit harder then to treat the spoken word actually like the spoken word? Thanks Bazza |

I use it because it's easier to see what I'm replying too, but I could do something like: ''Now, you said that bla bla bla'', if that's preferred. I'll try it out soon and see how it works. |

I can see and understand your point of view on this , and will think of this when I use quoting when posting. |
