Two nights and three days of murderous relaxation and fun

Remember, all is not as they seem.  Many times it is the innocent ones on the outside that are the most dangerous and plotting to kill.  They also tend to be the most expensive when it comes to bribing for information. 

The Cast:

The Were Clan

Bastet has ruled the Were Clans for ages. She was once a good and kind ruler,but lately, she has been making cruel demands and bad decisions that haveaffected the Were Clans adversely. In Egypt, she was worshiped as a goddess.

Anubis has loyally served the Royal Family as Guardian and Protector.

Isis is the mother of Anubis. We have heard that she is not too happy with Bastet and her strange and demanding behavior. Is Bastet going mad?

The Vampyr House

Cynthia is the mortal Scion of Prince Allendro. Through her, his powers are stronger. She has sworn her loyalty to him and his family.

Natasha has ambitions of becoming the Prince's mate. We have no doubt she will try to use the Prince's pressing need for a mate to attain her goal.

Gregori grew up as Prince Allendro's best friend. That friendship ended when the Prince took Cynthia as his Scion. It was expected that Gregori and Cynthia would become mates. A Scion is not allowed a mate. Her loyalty must be to her master.

The Mortal Watchers

Ellora is kind and wise beyond her years. She is overseeing the task of transcribing the Watcher's ancient records onto computers for preservation.

Jackson is the full-of-himself professor, who studies the Immortals.

Kieran is a sweet girl. She loves books and history. They say she has some magical abilities. Some whisper that her father was one of the Mage Clan.

Jason is a rebel watcher. He believes in living life to the fullest. Jason's twin sister, Jennifer, was one of the victims in the recent rash of watcher murders.

Christy is the newest watcher brought in by Merlin, who is in charge of recruiting new mortal watchers. Christy is quite the looker, but doesn't seem terribly bright.  People are saying that it is very obvious what Merlin saw in her.

Fae Court

Queen Tatiana is a beautiful, sweet, loyal and loving Wind Fairy. She is strong, nurturing and protective. Tatiana loves her family above all else.

Nineve is a Lake Fairy. You might know her from the Arthurian Legend as the Lady of the Lake. Her and the Mage, Merlin, have a love / hate relationship that has endured for ages.

Puck a Fire Fairy, is a prankster. It is a very good idea to watch your back around him. He is quite jovial and at first glance, you would think him harmless; but in the way of the Fae, some of his pranks can be embarrassing, or worse.

Mage Guild

Merlin is married to Morganna, who bore him two sons. He spent many years as the unwilling "Guest" of Nineve. His son, Lancelot, eventually rescued him.  Merlin is known to be a little shallow and self-centered. Okay, maybe more than a little.

Morganna is Merlin's wife. During Merlin's disappearance, she spent her time ruling with a fair hand, while helping to change the world with her good works.

Guinevere was betrothed to Lancelot, but upon his death, by custom, she had to marry his brother, Arthur. Poor Guinevere. This is where history really got things wrong. Arthur is a bumbling accident on legs.

Arthur is the last surviving son of Merlin and Morganna. He is very happy to have acquired Guinevere as his wife. He displays her like the trophy she is.

The Inquisitor will be here to investigate the recent Watcher Murders. These spectral beings make even an Immortal with nothing to hide very nervous. Immortals who are murdered become spectral beings, wandering the underworld, until their killer dies.

Based on private mails about how to play, I have complied the following information.

Playing Tips

If you have never participated in a murder mystery before, it might seem a bit unusual.   Many murder mysteries are fully scripted, meaning everything your character says and does is written down for you.  We on the Bella Detroit find it much more enjoyable if you understand your basic character and play at will within your basic guidelines.  This way your character becomes you and you are allowed to have your own fun.

How long does it take?

This depends entirely upon the individuals playing their characters.  It is possible for the murder to be solved within one night; sometimes it might take a full three days to figure out exactly who did something.  Remember, have fun, interact and post, don't just walk up to everyone and say, YOU DID IT to solve it in the first ten minutes.

Can I murder everyone?

No, the host of the murder mystery will let the murderer know what they are supposed to do and when they are to perform their task.  Unless this is you, you may not murder anyone!  There are however game mails that will be passed out at random.  If you happen to get a murder weapon, you may use it to kill one person.  You will then mail that person and tell them you have a murder weapon mail and that they are dead.  The person you murdered will then post in the forum their own death so that no one knows it was you that killed them.

Do I tell everyone all about my character?

No, you do not discuss your character's information with anyone else before the game starts.  If you do, you might give away secrets and spoil the game, mainly for yourself. 

How do I figure out who killed who?

The trick to doing well at a murder mystery is to talk to people.  This helps you determine who can help or hinder you.  Start with the people mentioned in your character sheet.  You will also have something to talk about; they were mentioned for a reason in your character sheet. 

If you have important information to share with just one person, DO NOT do it in the forum, do it via private mail, this way others will not find the information out without bribing you.  YES, you can offer game money to bribe someone to give up information they may have about others. They may or may not accept your bride.

Your Goals.

Find your allies as soon as possible.  Normally, to achieve your goals written in your confidential sheet you need to get other people to help you, and that usually means negotiating with them because they will usually want something in return.  This might be Mafia money and or information.  

Rules for Murder and Death

Again, to commit murder you must have a weapon mail.  YOU MAY NOT STEAL OR RE-USE A PREVIOUSLY USED WEAPON CARD FOR ANY REASON!

Mail in private the person you are killing so that they may post in the forum their death.

If you know someone has a weapon mail and you want to kill someone, feel free to pay them mafia money for their weapon card.  The person who was given said weapon card must then mail the host that they sold their card and give the name of the person they sold it to. 

The victim will be removed (their character) from the game and brought back as a Detective.  Please note, they may or may not be an honest.  Meaning the information they choose to pass on may or may not be honest or factual.  They may be paid off by someone else to give false information. 

No person that is murdered can use any of their previous knowledge as that character no longer exists.  DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES!

Spell Mails

Sometime during the evening you will be mailed a spell mail.  Use these spell mails wisely as they only have ONE USE.  To use a spell mail on someone you must tell them in the forum that you have used a spell mail on them.  The victim of the spell mail must fully understand the spell.  The spelled person MUST follow these rules once touched by a spell mail.  All spells are bound with FORGET ME FAIRY DUST.  This means your character will not know they are under a spell, nor will they remember their actions.  If questioned about your actions, you have no clue what people are talking about and will deny all accusations.
