Everywhere you look you see stars. New York is that kind of city. The skyscrapers seem to brush up against them when the moon is just right. It's a beautiful place this town, it has a circadian rhythm all its own and it jukes and jives it's way into your soul. Walking around you get a sense of just how truly alive the city is. Each of the five boroughs bringing something new to the mix; from the familiar to the fantastic. The surreal to the sublime. The first time you ride in a checker cab it's magic. Maybe it was from the airport and you got your very first glimpse of the skyline with all your worldly possessions stuffed in the trunk; hooked on the city the moment you laid eyes on The Empire State Building. Or maybe you fell in love the first time you stepped out of Penn Station into the dizzying hustle that is 8th avenue. This place has as many stories as it does faces. Bronx county down to Richmond, I love every square inch. We have seen a population explosion these past few weeks. People from all over the world hear about this land of opportunity and sell everything they have to make it to these shores in search of a better life. You can't blame a guy for wanting to do all that he can for his children. We are obligated by our love. That our country can be seen as a beacon of hope for so many people humbles me. Our prosperity is testament to the hard work of each of the families. We have all grown and seen the standard of living for our citizens improve steadily. To that end, we have housed and employed every person that we have been able to here in New York. Plans for construction are proceeding and we hope to build as soon as possible. Unfortunately that may not be soon enough for those wishing to make New York their home. We have so much to offer here and feel it would be a shame to have to turn away any more citizens out of lack of adequate employment opportunities. With so many new people coming here every day we are determined to help all of them we can. New York will continue to prosper and flourish. Continue to grow and give shelter to people from every corner of the world. Continue to be the coast with the most. This morning New York will see a new family open it's doors to the city. A family headed by a man who shares our vision of the future for this city and embraces it's past traditions. Born of the Four Pillars, a man who is my brother and my trusted left hand. Through his tireless work and dedication to this family and his selfless sacrifices in service he has proven invaluable himself to me. As a man of honour. As a man who cares. It is out of love for my city that I give him my blessing to set up in it. For I know he loves it every bit as much as I do and will work as hard to achieve our dreams. My immediate loss is New York's gain. Damas y Caballeros, please put your hands together for New York's newest star, Seventh. |
