KingBenny enters the room puffing a cigarette.

"Logan, my friend.  How are you?  Still here I see?  No rest for the wicked I guess, eh?"

KingBenny takes a seat at the bar.

"I bet on a hot day like today the homeless were happy to have a place like this to get outta that sun.  I know I am.  For a guy like me who spends a good part of his day in alley ways and stuffy back rooms, it's good to know there's place I can go after a long day of flim-flammin' to sit and drink amoung dignified men. like yourself."

(Logan notices His friend Benny return since He's been watching the door constantly hoping His girl will soon arrive.)

"Welcome back, Benny, My friend."

(He chuckles at the phrase 'dignified like yourself')

"Dignified eh? Well not sure I'm all that but down to earth and respectable is what I'm shooting for. What can I get you?"

(He pulls a clean glass from behind the bar ready to fill with something to quench Benny's thirst)

KingBenny thinks what he wants to whet his whistle.

"Well, I just came from the club,  so I've had a few already You know, the one Michael_Corleone_ opened up downtown.  Nice place.  You should stop by and have a drink sometime."

Benny takes a long drag from his cigarette and exhales through his nostrils.   "I was hopin' to get a few words with Michael, but I was gettin' hounded by all the broads that were hangin' out there askin' me to dance." lies Benny.  "But what the heck.  I guess I'll take a Scotch on the Rocks."

Benny takes a long drag from his cigarette and taps the ash into a nearby ashtray.

"Ya need an extra set of hands around here?"

(Logan pours the Scotch and makes it a double, adds the ice, then slids it to Benny)

"Well I certainly could use help manning the bar when I'm not around. Or even when I am for that matter. I actually do have some things I need to take care of. Could you man the bar while I'm gone? I promise I won't be too long."

(Logan washes His hands quickly and dries them. He throws His trenchcoat and Fidora on and heads toward the door)

"Don't worry guys, enjoy yourselves. I'll be back soon!"

(With that He heads into the street)

KingBenny raises his hand and shakes his head.

"Please, say no more.  Your place is in good hands.  Go tend to your business.  You've been very helpful to me since arriving to the city.  This is the least I can do."

KingBenny steps behind the bar, ready to serve any friends who wish for a place to rest their bones and chat

Logan and i have always had good timing and if this don't prove it nothing will...

as i drive up infront of the gathering who do i see coming out....my Baby!!

Love... i call out to Him as i park the car...will You please come and help me withthese things i got for the place? i am so sorry it took me longer then i thought,

You know me Babe when i make my menus i have to go to all the diferent stores for different things, i am so excite with everything we have done to get this place up and running for all the homeless people, i am just thrilled to be cooking for them all!

Guess what Our first meal is going to be Love? Now don't freak out on me Babe this is alot and i know we can't aford to do this all the time but let's do the first day right!! i look up into Your eyes as i say this, it is more a plea for You to let me!!

ENTREE: Grilled 12-ounce steak piled high with sauteed onions, peppers, chili peppers served over Russet potato wedges.

Dessert: Caramelized bananas, FOUR flavors of Creamery Ice Cream, almond Florentine cookies, fresh strawberries and whipped cream

Now Babe, Like i said i know it's alot...but this is "The grand opening"!!!

as i grab an arm load of bags from the car and head for the door, i pause and look

up at this old building that Logan found and i am so proud of Him and all He has done.

i am so excited about all the good times ahead we have....

(As Logan left 'The Gathering Place', He barely got out of the door when He saw rose pull up. As He makes His way over to the car, she calls to Him to help her bring some groceries inside.)

"Hey babygirl, Bout time you showed up. I was getting worried. Head in with those. I'll grab the rest."

(Logan proceeded to heft the rest of the grocery bags and supplies she brought, noticing she must have bought out a store or two for all this. Trying to hurry back in but not wanting to drop anything He fumbles with the bags and finally gets them all inside.)

"So, babygirl, what do you think of the place? By the way, this is My babygirl rose. Rose, say hello to Benny. He was going to take care of the bar while I was gone."

(Logan lugs the rest of the supplies back to the kitchen. When He re-enters He takes His trenchcoat and Fidora off and hangs them on the coat rack.)

"Benny, can you pour Me an ice water and pass Me an ashtray? And something for My babygirl, what would you like rose?"

(Logan pulls a new Cuban out and lights it, hauling on it slowly and approaching the bar.)

i Love the place!!! it's coming together just like i knew it would!!

hi Benny Sir, so good to meet You, let's see i'll take a tall glass of ice water with lots and lots of ice please!!

as i look around and take it all in, i take off my coat and hang it on the big oak coat hook next to the door along with my black silk scarf, i fix my lil black dress and brush my long dark hair and tie it in a ponytail

so benny Sir do You think You'll be coming by tomorrow? and Love ,did You call the family and let them know were going to be serving breakfast lunch and dinner?i am really excited about all the great times were going to be having here

KingBenny smiles at the couple

"Two ice waters, coming up.  Extra ice for yours.  And may I say it is a pleasure to meet you as well, Rose.  Logan has spoken very highly of you, and I can see he has not been exagerrating.  Logan is a good man.  Take care of him, ya hear?  Make sure he stays outta trouble"

KingBenny laughs as he slides a fresh ashtray over to Logan

Esham opens the door to The Gathering Place and enters the room. Quickly finding a spot to sit down, he glanes over to Logan-Black and grins.

Nice place you got here, man. Got anything to drink?

(Logan turns toward the Gentleman entering and offers His hand in greeting.)

"Hi there, and thank you. I'm Logan, and this is My girl rose and My good friend Benny."

(Logan turns to Benny.)

"Mind grabbing our guest a drink, Benny?"

(Logan turns back to the guest.)

"I didn't catch your name friend."

(Turning back to Benny, Logan flicks some ash in the fresh ashtray)

"Thanks Benny, you're a natural behind that counter."

(Logan smiles and turns back toward the guest, passing rose her icewater and taking a sip of His own.)

as i gulp down some of my ice water and finish putting some of the things away i look around to see if there is anything else i need to do

" Yes Love, Benny does look good behind the bar, i hope You stay around Benny it's so good having You around here, Logan has to much on His plate, it's a nice break for Him. Love do You think You could give me a hand in the kitchen, i want to make us all some dinner"

(Logan turns to Benny with a slight grin on His face.)

"Benny, mind still keeping an eye on the bar? Gonna give rose a "hand" (winks) in the kitchen."

(With that Logan follows rose into the kitchen giving her ass a playfull slap on the way there.)

"You two go catch up. I'll take care of our friend here. So what can I get'cha?" KingBenny asks the gentleman behind the bar.  While he waits for an answer he pours himself another glass of Scotch as Logan and Rose retreat to the kitchen for a well-deserved break

Esham nods to Logan, Rose, and Benny

Nice to meet you, fine people. My names Esham.Very nice to meet you 3.

Esham shakes Logan's hand and stands to shake Benny's hand, while awaiting Rose's return to greet her aswell.

I'll take vodka if you got it. On the rocks, please.

KingBenny nods and flashes his trademark sinister yet friendly smile at Esham and produces a fresh glass from behind the bar.  He admires Logan's liquor selection before selecting a bottle of vodka and pouring over the ice.

"Here ya go, Esham.  Salut."

KingBenny raises his own glass.

"No charge.  Logan runs this joint non-profit.  He's good like that.  A true man of honor."

(Logan returns from the kitchen with a satisfied smile on His face, and walks back over to the bar where Benny and Esham were conversing.)

"Its great to meet you, Esham. Sorry about the interruption, but rose is trying to get a meal prepared. We'll eat good tonight. You're all inbited to stay and eat."

(Logan looks a mite bushed and dehydrated after His 'encounter' in the kitchen.)

"Looks like I may need another icewater, Benny. Errm..preparing food (coughs) made Me thirsty."

(Logan flashes a grin and lights another Cuban.)

"Would either of you care for one?"

(Logan offers them each a Cigar.)

Esham smiles, he knows how "making dinner" goes. Standing up, he walks over and takes one of the offered cigars.

Don't mind if I do. :) Sure thing, I don't mind staying for dinner. What we having?
