"Congrats you just got. Started by: Aniki on May 05, '15 16:40

my 218901280921th mail."

So I keep seeing these sort of badges pinned on people and it makes me wonder. Just how sad are some of you folk?

I mean, why even bother with that? Do you really think I treasure your 370329023832th mail? Has it got a gold turd inside of it? What is so damned great about it that people feel the need to acknowledge this by sticking a badge on themselves to say Cunty McCunterson just sent them a mail? More importantly, what makes you think people would care about a badge like this? It's not as if I'm going to nudge my friend in the street and enviously point at your badge that No Name McGhee sent you their 10th mail.

Is your self esteem so low that you need reassurance from someone in the shape of having an honorary 10th mail badge stuck to your peers chest? If so, please send me your honorary mails. Hopefully when you see I'm not wearing the badge you'll decide life just isn't worth living.

Congratulations, you're negative about almost everything that people do, are, or represent! You champ. I'll be sure to send you a mail when I can remember that you exist.

Report Post Tip

Don't waste your time Monamongo, I doubt I'll read it.

Report Post Tip

At least I've got a chance you'll read it! I'll send you my 1650th soon enough!

Shark had heard a little man offering a perplexing quandary in his vicinity, it was quite a rambunctious lot which had surrounded him with a frivolous fury. With a stoic look meandering its way onto his face, the shark began to... shit... fuck, I dropped my thesaurus, okay lets just stay calm... we can get through this.

"Hi. My name is Sharky, you seem to be confused a little bit, pal. You don't randomly hand out those messages to just any person, ya silly willy, they're more reserved to be sent to friends who want your mails, if you walked around handing your ten thousandth transaction to a random stranger then you wouldn't expect them to pin it up, now would you? No! No you would not!"

Shit. There wasn't a big word to be found?! No one is going to take him seriously now, debating is hard work.

"Maybe you don't realize this because you've yet to have a friend which gifts you with things of this nature? No worries, I will happily be your friend, I think we could go be... err.. what's that word when you are mean to people for your own amusement? Hold on, I'll get it. Just give me a second... err... we can be scamps? Scamp sounds like a good word for this."

He gives Aniki a stare and waits for him to respond.

"So, what do you say? Will you be the lady to my scamp?"

Report Post Tip

I think his point was that it is a very simple-minded thing to be amused by, and that it is objectively meaningless. It is purely symbolic in nature, and that a 10,000th mail holds no more significant value than a 8,426th mail. If, by chance, you happen to find value, significance, or entertainment in this ritual, then you are most likely a mouth-breather.

Report Post Tip

Well, if his only point was to make fun of something that he found silly, then there is already an avenue for that, I believe it is in the alleys of OOC and seems like the perfect hangout for both of you. I'm glad that Aniki isn't surrounding himself purely with invisible friends and has you to stand by his side and explain everything that he meant to say, Ant. You're a wonderful pal.

If only there was something you could give to him to show just how much you're willing to stand by him through thick or thin, something that would hold significance to the both of you which you could hang on your respective fridges. Something like a message, perhaps. Oh well, I can't think of anything. I'm sure you two brainiacs will figure it out on your own.

Shark grabs a piece of paper and scribbles a random number down on it.

There you go, something to remember me by.

Thank you. All future discussion topics will be submitted for your approval prior to being brought to the streets.

Report Post Tip

Sorry, I thought I was supposed to be sassy. It looks like it is working out so well for you two.

Report Post Tip

You're supposed to be a landshark. You know, knock on doors. Eat people. Having opinions and speaking is not part of the job description.

Report Post Tip

You'd think you would be taking care of this ant problem rather than attempting to argue with a Shark, but I suppose being a eunuch won't be so much different than your sex life now.

Damn you two have it figured out, being a dick randomly on the streets IS fun.

Report Post Tip

The talking horse shark animal is taking this quite personally, one wonders if he secretly discarded a badge of his own before trotting over here?

I bet you did didn't you, you sly old horse shark thing.

Having had 2 offers so far, I will gladly accept them. As stated previously, when you realise your life isn't worth living because I haven't popped a badge on my chest for everyone to see, you only have yourself to blame.

Report Post Tip

So how's everyone doing over her-.....

Vladimir suddenly stops mid-sentence, stares at the people in front of him...

Nevermind.

Vladimir turns and moves away at a speed in between hastened walk and jog.

Report Post Tip

Rather a badge on my chest than a stick up my arse.

Report Post Tip

Whore listens to Aniki's opinion and rolls her eyes

More importantly, what makes you think people would care about a badge like this?

I think badges should be looked at as though they are art on the walls of the owners home. You don't have to go into their home, but if you choose to do so, you should realize they didn't put it there for you. They put it there for them, because it's what they like. I'm assuming you don't go into peoples homes and say, "Who painted that? Cunty McCunterson? It's awful!"

Report Post Tip

Clearly you've never been to Barry's house, Whore.

Again though, what makes people think that others want their 279798th mail to put up on their walls as you put it? Ants probably put it best:

If, by chance, you happen to find value, significance, or entertainment in this ritual, then you are most likely a mouth-breather.

Report Post Tip

Right, because you can speak for the people that put those mails up, and it's wrong for people to value a number as symbolism. Well shit. You must be a troll m8.

Report Post Tip

...what makes people think that others want their 279798th mail to put up on their walls as you put it?

People think it, because it's common practice around here. I don't think the senders expectation is that it will be displayed, but find it to be a nice gesture if it is.

Report Post Tip

Adorkable walks up to the group of people arguing over what other people decide to wear and decides to speak up.

"I personally have my mail on display because I liked it. When people send you their 1000th, or 1500th mail it means they were thinking of you when they saw they were nearing that number and made sure to let you know that you are in their thoughts. The mail I personally have is a bit different. It made me giggle and I wanted to remember it for the rest of my lifetime. So instead of letting it get lost at the bottom of a drawer somewhere, I posted it up for everyone who drops by to see. Whether they read it or not is up to them. I quite frankly don't care what other people think because it makes me happy and that's what I intended it to do."

She sighs and asks, "Where's the nearest bar? I need a drink after watching this soap opera."

Report Post Tips: 1 / Total: $20,000 Tip

Listening to another rant of another somewhat pointless topic.

I personally do not see a problem with someone wearing a badge like that, if you took the time to get close enough to them to read what their badge said you obviously had some interest to point out that their badge meant nothing to you.  I say if you have a problem with the badge they were stop getting close enough to these people to read their badges
