Random thoughts. Started by: -Vehellione- on Jun 28, '09 20:05

So I was sitting in my new office, with my new boss next door. And I decided that I would come out here and talk to you all. Not really sure what about to be honest though. So I think I'll just write down some random thoughts.

Los Angeles is a beautiful city, filled with beautiful people. Hell, I'd go as far as to say this city was almost perfect. The only problem I see at the minute is the lack of open businesses in the area..All the boarded-up windows and doors, the deserted shops, and the general empty feeling around here. I would love to see that change, I yearn for the day when our bustling streets are filled with happy shoppers, when our streets are full of life and the shops are busting with profit. Myself, my boss, my Godfather and all the inhabitants of this fine city will be working together

My next random thought is on people in general. I find it sad that a lot of the people that I encounter on my day to day basis have had so many ancestors, and so many family members of theirs that have been involved in this life of crime that they have become somehow desensitised to things that new bloodlines still find exciting and wonderful. Now i'm not pretending like I'm not the same, after all the ancestors of mine that have been involved with crime I have become somewhat less excited about reaching certain ranks. The thing that made me ponder this was talking to someone in the family a day or two ago.. This person found incredible excitement in a rank which quite frankly I considered to be one of minimal excitement. After thinking about this, I began to feel sad. I felt sad because I feel as though I have lost something, something which I long to feel again but I think that feeling is long lost to me.

I think that's just about it for my random thoughts tonight. I'll see you all soon for some more random mentionings.

V steps down from the soapbox and wanders back into the HeadQuarters.

Heh, regarding your first random thought I think it's just a matter of time before you have the economics rolling again in the Los Angeles business districts.
Those famous boulevards will be busy once again don't you worry.

Regarding the second matter, I can not say I experience the same thing, not at all really. Every bloodline for me is a new challenge, how will it develop, what's the goal this time etc.
Surely for me to speak now as a young Crew Leader it's a bit a give away but do keep in mind that my bloodline is here for allmost 7 years and only twice got authed, the first time roughly 4 years ago...

Anyways, I think you should find yourself perhaps a new challenge... That's how I keep the spirit alive!

Wow, V.

I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.  All I heard was...blah, blah, blah, in a beautiful city filled with people who don't appreciate what they've got.

How's a family supposed to thrive with that?  Hmmm.

Glad we had that talk.

I got up to the end of the first bit and didn't want to read anymore lol. Just pretend you read what he said and say something nice about it.

Red slumps over on a light post while listening to the newest street speech.

I agree with Ellie. Blah, blah, blah.

Now, no offense V, but if you want the business district to be thriving then go do something about it. You talking here, telling everyone how horrible it is isn't going to help out. At all.

Well, good luck with the business district.  But always remember, it's better to have quality than quantity.  A bunch of businesses don't really mean a whole lot if nobody frequents them.  But if you have 4 or 5 really impressive businesses, now that is something to be proud of.  I look forward to seeing the Los Angeles Business District return to glory.

As for excitement, meh, to each his own.  I find that I am excited about things in this life that others don't really care about.  For instance, this interaction with somebody like you makes me happy and excited.  Others could care less, and may wander over here to take a gander, but only if it's on their way to their next robbery or wack attempt.  Rank, on the other hand, doesn't really excite me all that much.  My ancestors have been here for ages, but I haven't lost any of the excitement they had.  I have just found new things to get me excited.

For you consideration, V

I totally get what you're saying about LA. It'd be nice to see her up off her ass and working again. Makes sense to me.

So, don't be down. It's not worth the effort it'll take away from the reconstruction.  Just remember to take your time and say what you mean.  We're listening.

All I can say is things in LA will pick up just give it some time, and remember stuff dont just happen we have to make it happen.

I see its potential rather than its detriments. That old mom-n-pop on the corner..someone with a little time and some muriatic acid and a scrub brush could clean the brickwork up and slap a coat of fresh paint on and have themselves a real nice place. I imagine a guy could sell ice boxes and those washing machines which are all the rage out of there all day long. Looks like it has a nice big storage area in the back too...maybe a truck backs up and a coupla mooks drop off a few slot machines and gaming tables...not that I'm condoning gambling in the city limits which we know is illegal. This is all hypothetical of course.

Residents and tourists alike probably have had the same concerns but now we can honestly say they are unfounded. We're looking forward and embracing the future. Where now stands a boarded up building you will see a shiny new cafe with art deco fixtures and turqoise and silver diamond tuck suede leather booths where you can get the freshest hottest java in town served to you in an oversized bone china cup courtesy of the most beautiful gal you've ever laid peeepers on named Marilyn with one "en" who looks to have been molded by the hands of the Almighty himself on a particularly inspired day who's only doing this until Howard Hawks discovers her and sweeps her off to fame and fortune because she's really an actress and just between roles and speaking of rolls would you like a sticky bun with that coffee bub?

How about that mission style with the tile roof and the moorish arches and the terrazzo floors over yonder? I see a showcase for the finest in jewelry available worldwide. Rene Lalique, Tiffany, Cartier, Fouquet, Van Cleef and Arpels...bring your dreams and and your inheritance because dreams don't come cheap if ya know what I mean. Faberge made the most stunning pieces you could imagine living in Saint Petersfreakingburg Russia working in stoneage conditions surrounded by communists and other assorted degenerates. Can you imagine what a skilled artisan working here in good old God loving sun shining every day perfect weather perfect conditions perfect tan perfectly perfect Los Angeles could do? I can. I can see it now.

I see because I believe. I believe because I have faith. They say faith can move mountains. It can also build car dealerships and hotels and taquerías and warehouses and a watering hole where you can drop a few dollars on the pin machine and get lucky and drink cold beer free on the houses dime all night long. Some believe in magick. Look at me now and listen; magick is bullshit. Magick tricks you into believing but it is all just an illusion. You wish it were real but when the smoke and mirrors are cleared away you have nothing. Nada. Zip. Faith is different. Faith is the certainty that what we hope for is waiting for us. Me, I have plenty of that. I am certain beyond a doubt that in the coming days and weeks you will see a transformation the likes of which will leave you breathless and amazed.

I love this city.

It is our home, it is our destiny, and when the dust settles and the light shines from every window, and the streets are filled with faces, and the factory whistles blow signaling another shift change, and the skies overhead are filled with those big ass Boeing 314 clippers bringing people from all over to take a shot at their dream here in the entertainment capital of the world...then it will become the city on every tongue. The City of Angels. Godfather Premier's legacy to the world.

Faith. It will happen Every day little by little. Watch and see.
