stealing cars Started by: Spikeynator on May 18, '15 16:15

might be a nice idea to have stealing cars or something to do next to petty crimes...

any opinions ?

Report Post Tip

Like felonies?

Report Post Tip

no i mean stealing actual cars wich u can use for something (ship them to other countrys for jobs)

Report Post Tip

like if u steal a car it might be damaged from trying to get away with it...

ship it to another district cause it is hot where u stole it...

repair it in the garage or just sell it for some extra cash.

maybe implement a getaway driver job where u got to have a good car to get away for certain jobs or something...

Report Post Tip

and i misunderstand what u ment by felonies...

doing it like felonies could work actually when ur like lvl 10 u can like pull out some1 from behind the wheel at the traffic light up to lvl 60 going into a private parking lot of a fancy party or something...

ofcourse at the lower lvls u get crappy, low value cars and at the highers ones like ferrari's & lamborgini's and such.

I like this idea.

It's the 1920/30s not sure how much car crime there was. But hey let's crunch some numbers.

Model A Ford was your standard car from 1927 to 1938. New they went from $385 for a basic model up to $1400 for top of the line. Given that you are selling to the black market, for a non hard to get item we're talking 10% of the value, $39 to $140.

Your typical top of the range car, like a rolls Royce, Bentley or Mercedes Benz SSK was around $8500 to 12000.

Not really worth the effort

Report Post Tip

i think its worth the effort for people who just want a bit more cash...

there are plenty of different cars in the 30s so i think it would just be a nice addition to the game.

also u dont have to sell them if u dont want to u can also start a nice collection and just try to get all the cars available :)

I suggest you try searching prior suggestions in the future. This idea has been discussed and shot down in all forms for a very long time now.

oh... well sorry then i couldent find it.

The other thing that a lot of newer players fail to grasp is that money in the game is finely balanced. Allow players to generate too little and everything is a chore and fairly Unachievable. Too much and the whole economy goes down the pan. izzy is very fond of saying if it comes into the game, you need a way for it to be taken back out. So say we do implicate the your idea, and cars can be sold on for game cash or just kept and admired, where would the extra cash be taken back out of the game?

Report Post Tip

as u said $39-$140 for low end cars u think that is too much to need it to balance out?

anyway ive never seen mafia without cars to be honest... it just part of the mafia :)

Report Post Tip

Yes but at this point cars are just tools, gun running, smuggling, drive bys, getting from a to b. Sure for some they are a status symbol, but it would be one car, people would seldom have 2 or 3 or whole collections like nowadays

Report Post Tip

yeah agreed about the collection ...

well maybe an option just to buy 1 then?

makes it so u dont have to pay the $5 to travel to different districts :)

Report Post Tip

Nah, I still see no benefit to the inclusion of cars for travel purposes. The nominal fee to travel isn't really anything that needs to be circumvented by introducing other methods of transport. It's $5 after all.

As Chris and Marcus have said; there has been Cars mentioned many times and each time it's been discussed, it's been a flat no due to the fact its not a necessity, it adds nothing to the Role Play aspect or Game Play aspect so really it would be a misuse of the coders time to add something that really brings nothing to the game.
