United States Transport Union-Detroit Branch Started by: Caolan on May 21, '15 15:51

Caolán had always been a member of the union. Back in Ireland, his father had convinced him to become a member of the dockmans union. The organisation had viciously fought against padrones in an attempt to better the working class' conditions.

In America it was different. It seemed that the Union and organised crime go hand in hand. One could become very powerful if they rose to the top of the Union. He bided his time. He made friends in high places, he was a dedicated organiser of strikes. He used his influence to punish those who broke tre strikes. It was dirty and dangerous work but he loved it.

Then his friend Carnival became head of a cab company. Caolán sensed an opportunity to make them both some really good money. But to do that he needed two things: a monopoly for Carnival(to avoid the undercutting of prices) and thepresidency of the Union for himself(to avoid the current president making trouble for their plans).

After several months of bloody bombings and murders, their first goal was achieved. All that was left was the murder of the Union President. After charting his movements and learning his routine they set up a trap. Nothing fancy. You trap the target in a location, kill him and then escape. It was simple.

The trap was a company breaking a strike. Caolán's car came screeching to a halt beside the President's. Caolán got out and emptiedhis Thompson M1IA into his face.

The next step was fixing the election. He'd gained enough influence to make it a two horse race. A briefcase conating $500,000 made sure he would win. He was looking forward to making money with his good friend.

As the fine knight Ser Robert Strong is riding around with his noble steed, he wonders what this new place is where he ended up. It was a strange place called Detroit and it was a magical place. There where all kind of strange people walking around the streets here but there where also a lot of those metal cars. That drove around like they where horses but they didn't look like his trusted steed. He didn't like them and they didn't like him he noticed when yet another "car" made that strange honking noice.

But this noble steed got a problem, he started to limp when he walked and Robert jumped of his steed and looked at it to look what was the matter. he started in front of the horse but he was perfect in front so he went to the back legs of his friend. There he found wat the problem was, the horse lost his horseshoe and he needed to have it replaced so Robert started looking for a smith.

After looking around the city Robert finally found a smith and he orderd him take care of his steed. The smith told him it would take a day to get it fixed and he made the offer to get a cab for Robert to bring him to a hotel. Ser Robert didn't know who this cab was but he let the smith get one and waited to be called.

After a few minutes the smith came to get him and he brought him to a nice car and opend a door for him. As Robert got in he cab the Driver introduced himself.

"I'm Caolán he said, I'm one of the owner of the company but i still like driving people around. So where do you want to go?"

Robert was very interessed in the car he was in now, it looked a lot bigger than he thought and also the seats where nice but he did already miss his noble steed.

"He there good Ser, would you be so kind to bring me to the finest hotel that you know of? And could you also tell me about this fine business that u have started here"

Robert got comfortable and waited for Caolán to talk and drive the car to his destination

Caolán was driving in a cab from the company that his frien Carnival had gained control of. He enjoyed driving and the sense of freedom it gave him. Freedom he had never been given in Ireland.

He was deep in thought of his homeland when Ser Robert Strong enetered the car.

"Hah. I don't know many hotels but I do know a great little motel. Its run by a good friend of mine. He'll give you a good deal."

He stopped abrubtly at the red light.

"Well, I gained control of this union thanks to dedication. I just want to se everybody get a fair deal. But I'm no Communist, everybody's got to make a buck. Im a socialist at heart but a capitalist in my daily life. The great irony. This is my way of balancing my two different ideals. That's what this businness is about."
